Shameless

As promised I took Debs to the zoo and we had gotten back quite late last night so I wasn't surprised at how tired I was as I stumbled back in from work. I drop the bag of leftovers onto the table before flopping face first onto the sofa. I groan when a weight is added to my back and look over my shoulder to see that Carl had joined me. "You okay little bear?" He doesn't answer me right away instead choosing to shift around until we were both on our sides and I was able to hold him.

"Had a nightmare. You weren't in you room." I play with his hair. "I'm sorry little bear. I was at work. But whenever you have a nightmare you can always sleep in my room even if I'm not there." I whisper as I feel myself start to doze off. I kiss the top of his head and hold him a little tighter. "Love you Little bear." With that I fall asleep.

I wake up to the front door slamming shut and Debs comes in and storms into the kitchen. I rub my eyes and find Carl was still with me. After checking my watch and seeing that I had been home for about 30 minutes I wake Carl up. "Come on little bear. Time to eat." I shake him and he groans before cuddling closer to me. I smile at the sleepy child before standing up with him in my arms. I carry him on my hip into the kitchen and bring the bag with me. 

Once the sleepy child is in a chair I empty the bag onto the table. Today was a random selection of donuts, bread and fruit tarts. 

"I want to make pie!" Debs almost screams and Fi points her to the shower after taking the ingredients off of her. 

"Debs I'll help you bake later. For now go shower and get ready for the day." She thinks it over before nodding and running upstairs. I quickly eat a fruit tart before feeding Liam and getting him changed and dressed. I managed to get changed after into a pair of black tights, denim shorts, my chunky black boots and one of Lips old band shirts. I throw on an oversized green button up shirt over the top to keep my arms warm. 

"Come on baby boy." I pick Liam back up and take him and my laptop downstairs. I sit Liam into his play pen along with his faviourte toys. I sign into my online bank and see that I had been paid. I deposit some into the littles accounts as well as pay off the insurance for the month and my phone bill early to credit my account. I also check my email to see if I had gotten my results back but so far nothing. I was honestly starting to stress me out. I log out just as Deb, Carl and Fi came back and I look at them confused. "No hot water so we showered at V's" Deb explains and I nod "Where are the boys?"

"Getting a water heater. I'm going to go to the park. Want to come with me?"

"Not today Debs. I need to get some shopping done but have fun and buy yourself a snack" I pass her a 5 and she takes it before hugging me tightly. "Thanks."

"Welcome" I call after her as she runs out of the house. Say buy to the others before putting Liam in the car and driving us to the nearest home depo. I decided that I wanted to renovate the basement which meant it needed a new coat of paint as well as some rat traps. 

"What about this colour?" I show a paint card with a cream colour. Liam was sat in the cart and looking around at all the colours. "Yeh." well that was an improvement from the 'No. no.' I had gotten from the beige shade. I grab a few tubs of it as well as some new brushed and paint roller. Next up was some human rat traps as well as rat repellant to keep them away and some new light bulbs for the ceiling lights that hadn't been replaced in years. 

I pay and pack everything into the car. I check the time and realize Liam was probably going to start feeling hungry soon and I was craving fries so I drove us to McDonalds. "You want to fries baby?" He started dancing around in his seat making me smile and I go through the drive-through. 

"Hi, Can I get large fries, regular a vanilla shake, three kids chicken nugget happy meal with fruit shoot and three large double cheese burger meals with fries and coke" I say to the order box. My order gets read to me and once I pay and receive our food I park up and prep Liam's food. I remove the tab on the box turning it into a tray and pull apart a few of the nuggets into smaller pieces and add the rest to Debs and Carl's meal. I also break apart most of the fries so they cool down faster.
