I question my son
He stares at a blank television
He doesn't see any weird men
Or any monsters
He isn't scared
And he's aware it's off
He's aware it is a TV
He knows that what he is doing
Is just staring at a blank TV
I ask him why he keeps looking
Even when he knows these things
He looks me cheerfully and says
"Because things always look more beautiful in their natural state"
He moves closer
"Things are ugly up closer, but that's only because you don't see the whole picture."
