You stared at Chat, who was now staring back at you and Luka with an embarrassed smile. You tried to hold in another laugh that was slipping through your lips. What was chat doing here? Out of every place in Paris why was he around here? Was he patrolling this late at night?
"We're safe" Luka was the first to speak up, he sounded calm.
"I'm happy to hear that." Chat nodded at Luka before his eyes wondered over to you, and gave you a smile. "I'm happy to see you two are safe and sound. But it's kinda late you two should probably head inside soon. You know Paris can be dangerous at night."
Luka let out a small chuckle before speaking.
"No need to worry Chat, we're perfectly safe here."
Chat gave a nervous smile before he stepped closer to you two, but stopped right in front of you, his eyes scanned you up and down. You weren't really sure what he was doing. But you let out a small laugh, which made his eyes go to yours, which he gave you a smile.
"I suppose you guys do seem to be safe." he said as he stepped back a couple steps. You watched as Chat just slowly nodded to himself before looking up at the moon for a moment.
"Well I must be off, hope you two stay safe." Chat said before he gave you and Luka a big smile before quickly leaving.
You and Luka stood there in slience for a moment before Luka let out a small laugh before turning his attention back to the night sky, once again but you were still staring at the spot chat had been standing. You couldn't help smiling to yourself. You knew it was probably just him being a good person but just knowing that chat was checking up on you made you feel a little warm inside. But you didn't let the warm feeling stay for long cause your attention went back to Luka.
"I should probably get back to Juleka's room before she wakes up or something and wonders where I went." your voice came out quietly but it didn't matter because Luka heard.
He just turned to you and gave you a small smile before leading the way. You just followed as he lead you back to Juleka's room. But when he stopped right in front of Juleka's room and wouldn't let you past you were slightly confused. But you weren't confused for long because he started talking.
"Can we talk for a moment?"
You slowly nodded.
Luka quickly pulled you into a hug, leaning his head on your shoulder. You tried your best not to stiffen up.
"We're close right?" he mumbled.
"I mean, I suppose. You're my best friend's brother." you replied quietly.
He let out a small sigh, that probably wasn't the answer he wanted but he decided to just keep going.
"Then earlier you were clearly upset why didn't you come to me? Why did you go to someone else? You know I would of listened. I'll always listen. I want you to know I'm here for you."
You didn't know what to say. You didn't wanna tell him that the reason you were upset was basically because of him.
The quietness lasted a while as you tried to rack your brain on what to say. But you didn't really have to think long cause by the grace of the universe. Juleka had open the door, Juleka mumbled a few sleepy words making Luka quickly separate from you. Juleka just stared at you two for a moment. She still looked half asleep.
"I have to pee." she mumbled.
You and Luka moved out of the way so she could get through. You could tell Juleka was too tired to even realize Luka was hugging you before she came out of the room.
