AN: CW for sex
28 July
The Rising Sun had just finished up their concerts and were backstage celebrating with their roadies, managers and other team members. While they certainly didn't party as hard as they once did, the drinks were still flowing freely and they'd be here a while yet. They were all loving being on tour again, sharing their music and performing for people.
Amy was sprawled on the couch – a weird feeling mixture of exhausted but energised. She always gave her everything to a gig, which was tiring, but also gave her an adrenaline rush that took a while to come down from. She was listening to her cousins debrief about tonight's show – it had been a bit of a wild one – but texting at the same time.
Just finished tonight's gig. Kinda crazy so remind me to tell you about it tomorrow. Hope I didn't wake you. X.
It had been a month since she'd spent the night with Noel, and while she hadn't seen him, they'd been messaging and calling each other regularly since. In addition to everything else they talked about, Amy would update him on how the tour was going and he'd share lyrics and music from the album he was writing. So far there had been no mention about another night together, or even just lunch or dinner, but she liked that they spoke regularly.
Her phone pinged with a reply. I'm still up if you want to call me. But I don't want to take you away from celebrations.
Amy slipped out of the room into a quieter, more private room to speak to Noel. She still hadn't told anyone about him. She knew she'd get questions about his age, his intentions...she didn't want to answer any of that just yet.
"Hiya." She heard Noel's voice. She smiled and her heart did the usual fluttering motion in her chest.
"Hi. How was your day?"
"Same as yesterday, still can't figure out the middle eight of the song." He sighed. They'd been talking about the song day before and it was driving him crazy. It was good, but it had to be perfect. "Tell me what happened though."
"A railing cracked on one the balconies," Amy said, leaning her back against the wall. "They had to move everyone out of the entire section and find other locations for them. We had to pause the gig while they did it, so the whole gig was pushed back half an hour and we almost broke noise laws."
Noel listened to her talk animatedly. He liked hearing her voice – it was mellifluous as it came through the phone. He liked hearing her tinkling laugh as well and he just liked that she wanted to spent time talking to him.
"Oh shit," he said. "That happened to Oasis once too – a barrier cracked. It's always a bit scary."
"Yeah it is – but other than that it was great. Always a crazy crowd up here in the north – as you know. They're madferit." She said the last part in mock-Mancunian accent. Noel burst out laughing.
"Oh god please tell me I don't sound like that." Amy giggled.
"Don't worry not that bad. What are you doing this weekend? Got anything planned?" The show tonight had taken place on Thursday. The Rising Sun had a break tomorrow before to heading onto to the next place.
"Not much. Football tomorrow. Visiting my Mam Saturday," he said casually. Amy gapsed.
"In Manchester?! We're performing in Manchester Saturday night!"
"Oh really?" Noel feigned surprise. He knew this. He'd looked up their touring schedule to see when they were in Manchester. He'd planned a visit home the same time in the hopes he could see Amy. He shifted in his chair nervously. "Maybe if you've got a few hours spare or summat? And we could see each other?"
