Was it worth it?

Wednesday had seen Enid running through the forest but she had no other way to find her than trusting her instincts. The footsteps she was following might not even be Enid's so she risked ending up among other packs of werewolves, (students of the Nevermore that were out of the containment cages for their "antics" of Halloween).

Then, only minutes from the cave where Eudora had failed with her plan, Wednesday recognized a figure stirring in the shadows, but it had no intention of hiding.

She thought it was her Uncle Fester, but as she got closer to it, she finally discovered that she was right all along.

-Principal Parrols. - Wednesday wasn't surprised to find him there and he showed himself at the light of the moon, like he didn't care.

-Come on Addams, I know you were investigating about me and you have found out who I am.- The man didn't look threatening, he was just tired.

-Ifem, I was right.- Wednesday almost smiled because therefore her theory about him wasn't wrong.

-Of course, your ingenious little head worked, but I don't care, as I never cared.- Ifem smiled at her forcibly and Wednesday couldn't help but wonder why the Principal wasn't transforming during the full moon.

-Where's Eudora?- Ifem seemed interested only in that.

-You mean the witch who literally killed one of your students and from which you should have defended us?- Wednesday spat out those words with defiance, her rancor towards the Principal was clearly visible.

-Now I have come here just to do so, but Eudora is a witch, she ...- The man tried to justify himself, when the girl interrupted him, rolling her eyes.

- Indeed. As long as she attacked a werewolf, you didn't care, that's what you meant to say. - Wednesday continued, annoyed.

It was true, Ifem had intervened only after Eudora had expressed her willingness to kill not only the she-wolf, but also other outcasts of the Nevermore, for her great plan.

Eudora knew that Ifem would have made her do what she wanted, as long as she didn't endanger the "not-wolves", that's why she hadn't killed Ajax, but rather she had captured him and she had kept him alive.

Wednesday thought that was the reason why the witch was so pleased when she found out she no longer needed to kill an Addams. So Ifem wouldn't get angry with her.

-Tell me where she is.- The man was at the limit of his patience, but Wednesday was even more so.

Both were trying to reach the one they loved and they would have never stopped.

-Only if you'll finally tell me everything.- Addams threatened him, which worked, because Ifem was already tired of his secrets since many centuries.

-I couldn't transform myself too, like Enid Sinclair. Indeed, she is blood of my blood, even if her mother will never accept that.- Ifem confessed, while he looked at himself and shook his hands, as if he felt some kind of pain in his bones.

-I only succeeded when I fell in love with Eudora Addams, an outcast witch, cast away from our tribe.-

Wednesday saw how those memories tormented his face, but she remained silent, to store those secrets.

-But I was just a kid and that powerful love turned me into a beast that I couldn't control.-

Wednesday's thoughts quickly returned to Enid.

-Your mother... It was you... You killed her.- The girl accused him.

-I couldn't control myself!- Ifem immediately put her back in her place, raising his tone and calming down immediately afterwards. He looked hysterical.
