3rd person pov ~~
Obito surely regreted asking her this question.
"Hey... It's alright if you don't wanna talk about it. I don't mind though." Obito gave her his best smile but that didn't helped.
"I never talked about it with anyone. I guess I need to free my mind a little bit more." Narumi's little voice made sure that she was insecure about this subject.
"Well, I said you can tell me whenever you feel comfortable." Obito gave her a natural smile so that she can understand that she was safe with him.
"If I tell you now, would you listen?" Narumi said looking at Obito with sad eyes.
"I think you can." Obito gave her a assuring smile.
She inhaled a deep breath and decided to say the secret that she has been holding in her heart.
Obito stood there waiting for her to say something. She opened his eyes about Kakashi whom he had been misunderstanding since the beginning. Now when she needed somebody to talk to he would definitely be there."She was a very good kunoichi and Ken always admired her and sometimes he even compared me with her. I felt very bad that he compared me with her. I had a feeling that I was a Uchiha and she can't be better than me. But when I was 11 she beated me in a kunai competition and I hated the idea that how can she be better than me. I ran away from the place and ended up in the woods. There were some rouge nin roaming around in the woods who attacked me. I was having trouble with them cause there were 5 against 1 and I didn't had my Sharingan then. She came up to help even though I hated her. She risked her life just for me."
Narumi's voice cracked as she couldn't say the next line.
"I saw the kunai stabbing right through her heart right infront of my eyes. I couldn't believe that I hated her just because she was better than me. If she wasn't there I would have died and now she is in the hospital still in coma for more than 1 year just because of my stupid mentality." Tears gathered at the corner of her eyes.
"Just because of the stupid jealousy I lost a person who adored me as her little sister. I am just a cowa...." A single tear drop left her eyes which she has been holding since a long time.
She is not a person who shows much emotions around but whenever she remembered that night it ached her heart. She really cared for her and just because she was jealous, she had to fight with her life every moment now.
She didn't cared if she was crying like a mess now. She didn't cared if Obito thought of her like a crybaby or something. She didn't cared. She never cries but now when she is then it means she is really hurt.Obito stood there looking at Narumi who looked down at the dirt road as water droplets fell on the road wetting it. He never ever had seen her in a state like this. The Narumi he knew, was always full with positive energy. She smiled at him whenever they crossed paths. He returned one without even thinking anything.
Obito felt a little sad for her. He didn't liked her seeing in this way. Then suddenly he did something that he didn't regreted. He hugged her.Narumi's eyes widened as she felt a weight over her. She looked up and it was real. Obito truly was hugging her.
Instead of feeling comfortable, she was feeling uneasy. She didn't liked when somebody pities her. She tried to free herself when he hugged her more tightly.
"It's alright you know. Clouds rain too when they are heavy."
Narumi couldn't say anything much more so she just let her tears fall. Slowly she wrapped her arms around him and let the silence fill up.Obito could feel the soft sobs that she was letting go in his chest. Well, he knew the reason why Narumi hesitated at first. He maybe not close with her but he knew that she was a very good kunoichi and she was strong. She was carrying the Uchiha pride with her thats why she felt bad when someone looks down at her or pities her. Soon he realised that the sobs stopped so he smoothly let her go.
Narumi slowly let him go and stood aside. She wiped the remaining tears in her cheeks. She finally let out those bundled up emotions which she has been holding since a long time. It really felt...... Light.
"Thank you, Obito. You really are a good person." Narumi said and looked at him.
"Well that's why people say that, a friend in need is a friend indeed." He gave his famous grin which caused Narumi to smile a bit.
"And I guess that, we must head home before your mother thinks that I kidnapped her daughter."
This made both Narumi and Obito chuckle.
They both headed off and the rest of time they chatted regular things.
Obito is actually the one who encouraged her to talk more since she was feeling sad. Obito eventually made some unnecessary lame jokes so that she can let go off the earlier incident. She kinda felt that good at that though. Soon they had to part way because she already has reached to her house. Obito waved her a good bye and she gladly returned one.
One thing for sure, this incident made them more closer friends or whatever you can say.
