Like Home (An Eminem Fan Fiction)

Jess's POV

Hearing my phone ring from inside my bag, I mentally cursed myself that I hadn't put it on silent, now the whole of my History class had stopped to look at me.

I pulled it out, only to see a number that I didn't recognise. With all my teacher's knowing my current situation with my family, I was allowed to excuse myself from the classroom and I stood outside in the corridor as I pressed the amswer button.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Jess?"

"Uh, yeah. Who's this?"

"Hi, my name is Paul. Eminem's manager. You contacted me a few days ago, Monday, I think it was. Claiming to be Eminem's daughter?"

"Oh My God, yes that was me! I didn't really think I'd get a response."

"Yeah, most people don't. I get loads of people claiming to be various relatives of Marshall and for obvious reasons, I have to investigate and get them checked out just in case, nobody's claims are ever true though. Your's however, that did come as a shock last night when all the paperwork came back as valid."

"Not as much of a shock as it came to me. I didn't even recognise Marshall's, or I guess my dads name at first, it was my friends who realised."

"So you really never knew you were adopted?"

"Never. Always felt like the outcast of the family but adoption never even crossed my mind. I honestly don't know how I feel about it all. I get that my mum thought she couldn't take care of me but with all due respect, it was a pretty dick move on Marshall's part to walk away. The only reason I sent that email was because my friend put the idea in my head."

"That's understandable but it came as a huge shock to Marshall too. Trust me when I say that he never knew but I giess he can explain all that to you in person."

"What? He never knew? In person? Please tell me what's going on."

"I don't know how you'll feel about this but Marshall wants to talk to you, tell you his side of the story, give you some sort of explanation. He's just as confused and probably scared about this whole thing as you are. We're about to get on a jet to England, he wants to talk in person, he's not great at expressing himself over the phone and I suppose he wants to meet his mystery daughter. I hope you understand. Our jet will be in Bristol in around 8 hours, so I think that'll be around 6pm BST? Bristol is where you live right, just to check? Is there a particular place we could meet?"

"Uh yeah, 8 hours is 6pm. This is so crazy, he really had no idea about me? He wants to meet me? I live in Bristol but my adoptive mum is kind of mad at me right now and I'm not too sure she'd like you guys turning up at our place."

"Alright, it's up to you but I'll send you the address of the hotel we'll be staying at. Feel free to come by around 7 but if you don't want to turn up to meet a random group of guys then I totally understand and we can sort something else out. Just give me a call back and let me know. Anyway, I got to go, we're about to board the plane. Just wanted to give you a heads up that we were coming."

"Yeah, thanks, I appreciate it. I'll let you know if I'm coming too."

"You seem like a pretty awesome kid but remember you don't have to come of you don't want to. Have a good day, bye."

"Bye." I said as I hung up the phone and not even 30 seconds later, I recieved a text with the address of one of Bristol's most expensive hotel's.

I can't belive any of this is happening. Marshall, dad, whatever I'm supposed to call him, wants to meet me? I'm the long lost daughter of a celebrity!

I set about this whole DNA journey with the hope of getting answers and now I'm one visit away from getting them.

I guess I'm going to meet my famous dad tonight...

A/N - I'm excited for the next few chapters. I know I said that this chapter the two would meet but I thought it would be good to stretch this part of the story out a little and also include the conversation with Paul.

Next chapter will focus around Jess, her talking to Lexi and Alex and then a interaction with her adoptive parents. Then the one after that will be Jess and Marshall meeting.

Should I do half of the chapter in Jess's POV and the other in Marshall's or would it be better to dedicate one chapter to Jess's reaction and a separate one to Marshall's? Let me know.
