Jess's POVDid last night really happen? Is this in my imagination? Am I going to wake up one day and this will all just be a dream?
I roll over as the sun begins to glare through the curtains and open my eyes in to a squint. Sure enough, I'm greeted by the familiar surroundings of Lexi's parents guest bedroom.
I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I'm a celebrity's daughter, got kicked out and now am moving to America. If yesterday wasn't some sort of kinda crappy but awesome miracle then I don't know what is.
I swing my legs out of the bed just as Lexi's mother comes in with a tray of juice, tea and crumpets.
"Morning sweetheart, how are we feeling?" She says with a warm smile as she sets the food down on the nightstand and perches at the end of the bed.
"Tired." I say with a light chuckle.
"Thanks for letting me stay, I know I didn't give any notice."
"Don't be silly, you're welcome whenever. It makes a nice change from listening to Lexi and Alex bicker about who gets to use the shower first."
"I feel your pain, I really do."
"So, Lexi said you're adopted? Dan and Eloise aren't your parents?"
"Nope, I did that testing thing at school, Lex probably told you?"
"She did. She also said that's where you were last night with your biological father?"
"Correct." I mutter as I take a bite of my perfectly buttered crumpet.
"Did everything go ok? I know it must be a lot to process right now."
"Like you wouldn't believe but oh my God it was amazing. He seemed so nice and like he wanted to make an effort with me. I'm moving to America."
"What?" At that moment Lexi and Alex slip into the room. "Have you two heard this?"
"It's great isn't it Rita?" Alex said, seeming even more thrilled than last night.
"Mum, before you start worrying, I have every faith Jess will be alright and if not then we'll have her back, right? Plus, he has other daughters and Alex will tell you better but I'm pretty sure he's a good father to them."
"You sure? And how does Alex know?"
"He's just a teensy bit famous Rita." Alex said, I could tell it was killing him to keep Marshall's identity secret.
"Oh, really? Who is he?"
"Erm, he's calle-" No, no, no , no, no. Alex really can't keep his mouth shut.
Just then Lexi's dad walks in.
"Right, I'm off to work. You guys all have a good day." You know that saying 'saved by the bell'? More like 'saved by the Bill'. I don't think I've ever been more happy to see Bill than right now because I really don't want to be sharing Marshall's identity with everyone just yet.
"Bye, have a great day." Alex shouts after Bill who was now heading downstairs.
"So mum, how do you feel about letting three teenagers take the day off of school to discuss very important moving across the world matters?" Lexi quickly adds to distract Rita from the previous conversation.
"Just the one day you guys, okay? I'll call your parents and tell them you're sick Alex."
"Thanks Rita." Alex says, adding his best fake cough on the end causing us all to laugh.
As Rita stands from the bed, Lexi and Alex are quick to jump in her place whilst staring at me with eager eyes, waiting for me to retell the events of last night.

After a long talk about meeting Marshall and a quick shower each, the three of us are now shopping for some new clothes and I'm getting ready for America and by that I mean raiding all the local sweet shops to stock up on everything they don't sell over there.
Our only issue was that we were eating most of it as we went around but who cares? I'm moving to America, it's one of my last days here.
Alex was stopping us at every opportunity to take pictures, acting as if it was the last time he'd ever see me and Lexi looked as if she could cry at any given moment.
"Can you two stop being so dramatic? I'm moving, not dying."
"To the other side of the world Jess, we're barely gonna see you. You're leaving me to dwal with Alex on my own."
"Ok, how about we call every night?"
"Deal." Alex practically screamed at me.
"Time zones?" Jess mentioned. Shit I'd forgot about them. After a quick google, I realised Detroit was 5 hour behind England.
"Maybe you guys call at like 9 or 10pm? Then it'll be late afternoon for me."
"Sounds like a plan. I'm gonna miss you so much."
Just then my phone started to buzz and as I grabbed it out I noticed it was an unknown number.
"Hello?" I questioned as I put the phone to my ear.
"Hey Jess, it's Marshall. Paul gave me your number, hope that's ok?"
"Oh hi, that's fine. Is everything alright?" As I glanced up I could see Alex gesturing to the phone, asking me who it was. I mouthed back 'Marshall', causing him to let out a high pitched squeak that caused Lexi and myself to burst out laughing.
"Um yeah, I just got to talk to you right quick. Everything good, what was that noise?"
"That noise was a human who happens to be a kind of huge fan of you, who also happens to be my best friends boyfriend." I said as my laugh stilled.
"Right, man I've had people pass out on me before but I ain't ever heard that noise come from a human." Both me and Marshall chuckled lightly.
"So what was it you wanted to talk about?" I said as I took a seat on a nearby bench.
"I spoke with my lawyers earlier and because of your age, I can legally take you to America if I take temporary gaurdianship of you until the adoption papers are finalised so we can go whenever. However, Paul's on my ass and he wants to be back in Detroit tomorrow. How does it sound to you if we book the jet to leave at 7pm?"
"Today?"
"Yeah today. I know it's not long but I got deadlines to meet and an angry manager."
"I gu-guess so." I stuttered out.
"Aight, Paul will send you the details."
"Ok." I said about to hang up.
"And Jess, if this isn't ok with you then just say the word."
"It's good." I quickly said and hung up before I could change my mind...
A/N - 3 chapters left.
I'm still aiming to be finished by Christmas. Tomorrow's Christmas Eve so expect two chapters and then Christmas Day you'll be getting the pleasure of the final chapter of this book.
*I'm also aware that the legalities surrounding Jess's adoption aren't how it would go down in real life so please remember this is just a book.*
As always, any feedback or suggestions are welcome.
