"HELP, THERE'S A ZOMBIE!"I'm awoken by a scream. The sun hasn't even come up yet, and I can barely make out the moving figures around the unlit campfire.
"Zombie?!" Eli's voice rings out of the darkness as I clamber out of my sleeping bag. "I thought we were on The Mole!"
"HELLLP!!!!"
I pull on my shoes and stumble in the general direction of Eli's voice. "Eli?"
His face emerges from the shadows. "What's going on?!"
"I don't know!"
We hear another scream. "Should we stay here?" asks Eli.
I survey our surroundings, but I can barely make out anything. Is that thing a tree, my co-star, or...
"I don't see anything..."
"So we should be safe here? At least for now?"
"...that's I'm 100% sure is a zombie."
"So should we go somewhere?" Eli gasps in terror. "Where should we go? When's the helicopter coming? Will the helicopter come?"
I look at the trees where the screams came from, then swivel my head in the opposite direction, where the sea is. "I suppose we're the safest here."
"WHERE IS THE HELICOPTER???" Eli screams to the sky.
Okay, suppose we've been dropped on a zombie-infested island and our slow, painful demises are being filmed as entertainment for the super-rich, what is the first step we should take towards getting off the island?
While the trees would provide shelter, that's exactly where the zombies are. I feel very exposed here on the beach. There's no boat in sight.
But I we all made it onto this island...
"Eli, I think we need to find a vehicle ourselves."
"Really? But... do you even know where they are?"
"That's what I intend to find out." Just before I turn around to leave, there's a rustle in the trees, and the rest of my co-stars burst through.
"Thank goodness you two didn't just run off somewhere," Rex says. "We were beginning to wonder if you'd actually been eaten by zombies."
"So were there zombies or not?"
Sophie shook her head. "I just saw Simon sleepwalking."
Eli winces. "I hope we won't be stranded on this island for the rest of the season. If I'll be living with a sleepwalker, I'd very much appreciate a bedroom with a lockable door."
"Speaking of being stranded on this island... Are you guys hearing what I'm hearing?" River asks.
The group goes silent. The sun is finally starting to break above the horizon, and a soft whirring is growing louder and louder.
"THE HELICOPTER!" Julia shouts as it floats above the trees.
Once we've all grabbed our things, Star is the first to get on. "It's not ideal, but it's better than what we had last night."
"'Not ideal'?! Star, this is so cool!" Sophie exclaims.
"Wait, we have phones?!" Rex waves a mobile phone, much like the ones we were told to turn in before filming, above his head.
"We do? Hell yeah!" Julia excitedly grabs hers.
"Looks like they have our names on them," says River.
