Author's POV~
She attended the auction, dressed in her finest attire, and perused the items on display.
Adrianna went to take a seat and hear the bidding items. Santiago had warned her to not purchase his jersey, as he was going to have some one buy it back for him.
As fate would have it, Santiago's team jersey was up for bidding, and Adrianna couldn't resist the challenge.
With a gleam in her eye, she entered a bidding war for the jersey, raising the stakes each time.
It was as if a spark had ignited between them, fueled by their banter and rivalry.
Santiago told the person to bid higher than her every time, until Adrianna shouted out the highest bidding amount, which was only 80 dollars.
Eventually, Adrianna's bid was the highest, and she emerged victorious.
Impressed, yet upset by her determination and fiery spirit, Santiago should have known how stubborn she can be as well.
He approached Adrianna with a smirk and stopped in front of her, crossing his arms.
"You surprise me sometimes. But did you also know that the bidding comes with a dinner with the teamate who owns the jersey?" He said cunningly, waiting for her to decline, secretly hoping she wouldn't deep down.
Adrianna's smile dropped, now turning into a flat face. "If I had known trust me, I wouldn't have bidded. But eh, I can't do anything now." She replied.
"How about we celebrate your win with dinner at a nearby restaurant?" Santiago said unexpectedly.
Initially skeptical, Adrianna noticed a subtle shift in Santiago's attitude.
Perhaps there was more to their relationship than just clashing personalities. "Alright, why not? Dinner sounds interesting," she replied, cautiously accepting his invitation.
She didn't know if he was lying or playing a stupid joke on her, but eventually agreed to play it out.
"Oh, well then uh. I'll ask your brother for your number and pick you up." He said confused by her sudden acceptance.
Between them two, they only thought they were going to dinner but will soon realize what this action causes in the near future.
