The Will of a God. [LMK AU/God!AU]

Chapter 3: The Truth.

(Everything is in 3rd person except for Flashbacks.)


"I'm....whaaattttt?????" MK said, feeling a major rush of confusion. "You're a god, bud!" The monkey king said happily, wrapping his arm around MK. "..What? Me?? a God?! I think you got the wrong person..! Mister monkey king god sir--" MK said nervously. 

The monkey rolled his eyes, and made a big smile. "Well if i did then how did you pick up my staff? Literally nobody can do it but me myself and I bud." The god said, handing the staff to MK, pointing at it, as his tail curled around MK's leg. "This is...reallly weird. Are you sure your the monkey king? Are you not cosplaying or something?" MK said, touching and poking at him, squishing his cheeks and just poking him in general. 

The monkey got a little pissed, and his tail grabbed MK, setting him across from him. "No, i'm real, and i'm not cosplaying. Nobody could even begin to cosplay this beefcake." The god said proudly. "But-- But why me?? I'm not like you..!" MK said. "You're a lot more like me than you think.." The king thought. 

"Look, i've been watching you and waiting for you to get my staff because...well.....one, The Demon Bull king and his family are trying to make an act against heaven and the gods and all that, and i guess we can't be havin' that, and i wanted an opportunity to fully begin my retirement. Even if i still have god shit to do at least i don't have to fight demons as a part time job!" The king said. "So..Sun Wukong, great sage above heaven, wants ME, a noodle delivery boy, to go fight demons?" MK asked, astounded and shocked. 

"Ehhh close. I want you to be my student." The monkey responded. "..Like....a successor? You want me to take your place?!" MK said in a panicked tone. "What? Noooo! I'm a god that's basically impossible for me." Monkey king laughed.

"But i want to teach you to fight and become a better god! You were actually born as a liiiiitle bitty godling, but you grew up and now you're at the right age to know. Usually godlings are born in the celestial realm, or with their god parents in that respective god's realm. Or just in the nursery..-" He scratched his head. "But YOU were raised on Earth. Which means you didn't get Immortality when you became the right age." He said. "Why didn't i become immortal anyway when i did reach the right age?" MK asked. "Because you weren't around enough celestial energy growing up to get the chance too, nor get your godly powers. But here's the thing---you have my powers now. Always have! They've just awakened." Monkey king smiled.

MK was left jaw dropped.

"So you're telling me...I'm a god?!" MK yelled. "As i have been the past 45 minutes bud. And I want YOU to be my student, plus the city's new demon slayer." The king joked. MK felt stars fill his eyes. "I- YES! 100% YES! MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED!! I GET TO BE SUPER STRONG AND- AND REALLY COOL LIKE YOU!" MK screamed excitedly, as monkey king sat on a cloud. "Yeah, i've been listening to your prayers to me for a few years now. I knew i'd be able to answer them someday." The monkey chuckled, as MK excitedly ran around holding the staff. 

"I gotta tell dadsy and tang!! I gotta tell Mei!!! I gotta- I gotta tell Sandy! I'm so excited i can barely breathe!!" MK exclaimed. "I'm sure you can't bud. But-" Monkey king was interrupted when MK's phone buzzed. MK looked at it. "Oh shoot-- Pigsy's getting worried..I need to head back. I'm sorry i-" 

"It's alright bud! Don't sweat it. And think of the staff thing as a little godly gift, since i'm letting you keep it now." Monkey king shrugged. MK was ecstatic. He smiled happily and bowed to Monkey king. "Thank you, Monkey king!! I won't disappoint you." MK said, before quickly running off. The monkey sighed, and stood up off his cloud. 

He walked toward his temple, and walked inside it, staring up at his statue. He chuckled to himself, and smiled. "I know you won't." He said, as something loomed in the shadows, watching every move the king made...
