Selena ran out the door, leaving the band there.
"Nice going Tom!" Georg said
Georg's words broke the silence, a collective sentiment that seemed to hang in the air. The frustration in his voice was palpable, a reflection of the band's shared disapproval of Tom's insensitivity.
Bill's eyes bore into Tom, his expression a mix of sternness and concern. "Tom, that was completely uncalled for. Selena's going through a tough time, and you had no right to question her like that."
Tom's gaze remained fixed on the ground, his demeanor guarded and tense. He seemed to struggle with finding the right words, a tension that underscored the discomfort of the situation.
But it wasn't until Tom's voice broke through the silence, his question tinged with a note of genuine curiosity, that the band members truly sensed his remorse. "Why was her dad so important, anyway?"
Bill's response was measured, his words carrying a weight that seemed to fill the room. "Her dad was a crucial figure in the music industry. He helped us immensely when we were just starting out and believed in our potential when no one else did. He was more than just a mentor; he was a friend and a guiding force."
Tom's eyes widened in realization, the weight of Bill's words seemingly sinking in. The revelation of Selena's connection to their journey seemed to have struck a chord, a reminder that her loss was not just personal but also a part of their shared history.
"why are you still sitting there Assjack? go and say you're sorry!" Gustav demanded Tom.
Tom's gaze flickered from Gustav to the door, his internal struggle evident. After a tense moment, he finally let out a sigh, pushing himself to his feet. With a heavy heart, he made his way out of the recording studio, his footsteps carrying him down the hallway.
As he walked, Tom's thoughts were a tumultuous mix of regret and uncertainty. The weight of his actions and words had finally hit him, and he recognized the insensitivity of his behavior towards Selena. He knew that an apology was the least he could offer, a step towards repairing the damage he had caused.
Outside the recording studio, Tom scanned the area, looking for any sign of Selena. He hesitated for a moment before the sound of muffled sobs reached his ears. He followed the sound, his steps leading him to the entrance of the women's bathroom.
Hesitating at the doorway, Tom's resolve wavered. But then he took a deep breath and stepped inside, his eyes finding Selena hunched over, her shoulders shaking with emotion. The sight of her in such a vulnerable state struck him deeply, a reminder of the impact of his actions.
"Selena," he spoke softly, his voice carrying a mix of regret and sincerity.
Selena's head snapped up, surprise and a hint of disbelief in her tear-filled eyes. Her cheeks were stained with tears, and she looked at Tom with a mixture of surprise and wariness.
"What do you want?" her voice trembled, a mix of defensiveness and hurt.
Tom took a step closer, his expression earnest. "I came to apologize. I shouldn't have said what I did. It was thoughtless and insensitive, and I'm really sorry."
Selena's gaze remained fixed on him, her emotions swirling as she processed his words. "You hurt me, Tom," she whispered, her vulnerability laid bare.
Tom's shoulders slumped, a deep sense of remorse settling over him. "I know, and I regret it. I didn't realize... I didn't know about your father until Bill told me. I was a jerk, and I'm sorry."
Tears welled in Selena's eyes once more, her guard slowly beginning to crumble. She wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand, a mix of emotions evident in her expression. "You don't understand how much that hurt, Tom. My dad meant everything to me."
