The morning light filtered through the curtains as I prepared for the day ahead, a mix of nervousness and determination coursing through me. I stepped out of the shower, the warmth of the water lingering on my skin. As I sat in front of the mirror, carefully applying makeup and choosing my outfit for the interview, the events of the previous night still hung heavy in my mind.
I heard the door open and glanced over to see Lewis entering the room. His presence was like a storm cloud, casting a shadow over the small space. He took a disdainful glance at my outfit, his disapproval clear in his expression.
"That's what you're wearing?" His voice dripped with contempt, his gaze lingering on me as if I had committed some unforgivable act.
I took a deep breath, my resolve hardening. "I'm not talking to you."
But he didn't seem to grasp the gravity of the situation. He began to speak, his words growing louder, more forceful as if his anger could drown out my silence. He questioned my choices, criticized my decisions, and his voice soon escalated into a shout.
"You're being ridiculous!" His voice reverberated in the room, his frustration tangible. "You're throwing everything away for some silly dream. Can't you see how unrealistic this is?"
I stared at him, my expression a mix of exhaustion and determination. Every word he spoke was a reminder of the divide between us, the gap that seemed insurmountable. The hurtful words, the lack of understanding, it all piled up like a mountain I was struggling to climb.
"I won't let your negativity hold me back," I finally spoke, my voice surprisingly steady despite the turmoil inside me. "This interview means a lot to me, and I won't let you diminish its importance."
His anger flared, his frustration building to a breaking point. "You're so blinded by your stupid dreams that you can't see what's right in front of you."
His words stung, but I had resolved not to let him sway me. I rose from my seat, meeting his gaze with a defiant look. "I've made up my mind, Lewis. This is important to me, and I won't let your lack of support deter me."
He clenched his fists, his expression a mixture of anger and helplessness. "Fine, do whatever you want. Just don't come crying to me when it all falls apart."
I turned away, his words a final reminder of the wall that had grown between us. As I left the room to face the day, I couldn't help but feel a mix of sadness and determination. The path ahead was uncertain, but the resolve to chase my dreams burned brighter than ever. And as I walked away, leaving Lewis behind with his anger
The air inside the car was a mixture of anticipation and nerves, my fingers tapping on the steering wheel in rhythm with the music playing softly in the background. With each passing moment, the doubts and uncertainties tried to claw their way to the surface, but I pushed them aside, focusing on the road ahead.
As I parked the car and stepped out, the imposing blue building rose before me, its glass windows reflecting the morning light like a beacon of opportunity. The energy of the city buzzed around me, a reminder that life continued even in moments of personal turmoil. I took a deep breath, my resolve solidifying as I walked towards the entrance.
The revolving glass doors ushered me into a polished lobby, a blend of modern art and sleek design. The receptionist offered a warm smile, directing me towards a hallway that led to the heart of my interview. My footsteps echoed on the marble floor as I followed her directions, my heart beating a steady rhythm of determination.
The door to the meeting room swung open, revealing a spacious area with a long table and chairs. The man who sat at the head of the table looked up from his papers, his features calm and composed. His salt-and-pepper hair and the air of authority about him suggested a wealth of experience.
