finally, after what seemed like years, I finally managed to get the boys on the bus and help them decide who got the top and bottom bunk beds and who had what where.if you saw them you wouldn't think they had done this so many times before as they have. through their very surprising childish behaviour, it was clear these boys truly were a match made in heaven.
the hole one had, another was there to fill, they completed each other, and it was loving to see them interact with one another. The true definition of what real brotherhood meant and was all about.
the boys had seated them by the "dinner table" in the middle of the bus, While I had excused myself to the bathroom, I needed a moment to breathe. it had been more hectic than I had anticipated, but we made it nonetheless. I took my phone out of my pocket to see a million texts from everybody, Lewis, and Mia. our mutual friends.
as I was reading through the text with a heavy heart, seeing all the hurtful things people were accusing me of, It clicked for me.
Lewis and Maria. they had lied.
clearly, they had told everybody what had happened between all of us, surely putting some lies in there, and twisting some truth around in their favour. It sure looked like that from what people were texting me.
how I could throw Lewis out without an explanation and cut Maria completely off, again without any reason of all.
how dumb were people? did they seriously believe that? did our friends even know me, like at all?
Just then, the bathroom door creaked open, and my head snapped up to see Tom stepping inside. His presence was unexpected, and I quickly wiped at the tears that had welled in my eyes.
"Shit, Selena?" Tom's voice was soft, laced with concern. clearly not expecting someone to be in the bathroom.
I hurriedly composed myself, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "Hey, Tom. Sorry, I just needed a moment."
He nodded understandingly, leaning against the doorframe. "You okay?"
I let out a sigh, placing my phone on the edge of the sink. "Not really. It's just... My boyfriend, or now ex-boyfriend sat me down the other day and told me he had been seeing my best friend behind my back since I was giving him enough attention apparently "
A furrow formed on Tom's brow, sympathy evident in his expression. "Prick. That's so disgusting, I'm sorry to hear that Selena."
I nodded, appreciating his empathy. "Yeah, You can say that again."
His gaze held mine, steady and unwavering. "Listen im sorry I was so hard on you in the beginning, im not good with new people, you're not really that bad, kind of the opposite of that actually."
Meeting his eyes, I felt a connection in his words. "Thanks, Tom. I needed to hear that."
A genuine smile graced his lips, a hint of camaraderie shining through. "No problem. Do you want to join us? Bill convinced the gang to play some drinking games to pass the time, you sound like you could use it"
His offer was unexpected, and it touched me deeply. It seemed like Tom was extending an olive branch, a genuine gesture of support.
I looked at him, and seeing him giving a comforting smile, made my body rise up with heat. "Yeah, I would like that, I'll be out there in a minute.
he smiled and turned to leave.
"Hey, Tom?" I asked out stopping him in his tracks'
"yeah?" he asked
