I walked through the door of my apartment, my mind a whirlwind of emotions. The meeting with Tokio Hotel had left me with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. I was honored to have the opportunity to work with a band my dad had often spoken about when I was younger. He had shared stories of their rise to fame, their music, and their impact on the industry. It was surreal to think that I would be collaborating with them now, especially since I was only a few years older than the twins. My dad had worked with them in their early days, during the time they were starting to gain popularity.

As I turned the key and entered my apartment, my surprise was immediate. Mia, my best friend, was seated on my sofa, and Lewis, my boyfriend, was in the kitchen. Their presence together sent a jolt of apprehension through me.

"Mia? What are you doing here?" I asked, my voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of suspicion. Their tense postures didn't go unnoticed.

"Oh, hi Selena! You're home early," they both chimed in, their voices a tad too casual, their expressions not quite matching their words.

"I'm here to hear about your interview," Mia continued, her tone slightly forced. "You've talked about it so much."

Their hurried attempts to explain themselves raised a flag of concern. Something wasn't adding up, and the air was charged with an awkward energy. It was as if they were hiding something, attempting to cover their tracks with rehearsed responses.

I narrowed my eyes, a mixture of confusion and skepticism in my gaze. "Mia, you're acting strangely. What's really going on here?"

Mia exchanged a quick glance with Lewis, her unease evident. "We... uh, just thought we'd surprise you. You know, celebrate your big day."

Their attempts at nonchalance fell flat, and the knot of suspicion tightened within me. It was as if they were hiding a secret, one that they were struggling to conceal.

I took a step closer, my voice firm. "Mia, Lewis, you're my friends. You can tell me the truth. What's going on?"

Mia's shoulders slumped, her expression shifting from forced cheerfulness to resignation. "Okay, fine. There's something we need to tell you."

As they began to unravel the truth, the pieces of the puzzle started to come together. The surprise visit, the awkwardness, it all pointed to a revelation that would undoubtedly change the course of the evening, and perhaps even the trajectory of my life.

As Mia and Lewis exchanged glances, the tension in the room grew palpable. Their shared hesitation only fueled my curiosity, and I felt a mix of anticipation and apprehension as I waited for them to finally share what had brought them together in my apartment.

Mia took a deep breath, her eyes meeting mine with a mix of guilt and concern. "Selena, we didn't plan for it to happen like this, but... Lewis and I, we've been seeing each other."

The words hung in the air like a heavy weight, a revelation that I had never anticipated. A mixture of shock and disbelief coursed through me, my mind struggling to process the truth.

Seeing my reaction, Lewis stepped forward, his expression a mix of regret and remorse. "Selena, I'm so sorry. It's just... things happened, and we didn't know how to tell you."

My world seemed to tilt on its axis, the ground beneath me shifting as the reality of their confession settled in. Mia, my best friend, and Lewis, my boyfriend, had been seeing each other in secret. The betrayal cut deep, a feeling of abandonment and hurt that left me stunned.

Tears welled up in my eyes, a mixture of anger, sadness, and shock threatening to spill over. "How could you?" The words came out as a choked whisper, a question that held layers of hurt and betrayal.
