"you want me to do what?" asked grace

"play at my school dance, please" stella begged

"stella, stars like grace don't just play for free, they have to pay their agent" august explains

grace said she wouldn't mind doing it for free and said she'll come and play a few songs. stella smiled widely before thanking grace and running off to the ready for school. originally, grace came back to talk to cordell and ended up being roped into singing at a school dance.

cordell's heavy steps came down the stairs before seeing grace there.

"hey?"

"you don't sound happy to see me" teased grace

"i-i-i am, i'm just surprised" cordell said before asking what was it

"can we talk outside?" grace asked

cordell nodded before following grace out to the front of the house. once they were outside, grace

"what's up?" asked cordell

"mention my breakdown to anyone and i'll murder you" grace threatens

cordell looks at her with curiosity before asking if she was alright. grace just nods, sharing that she'll be fine but cordell can tell she's lying.

"so you're playing at school dances now?"

"yeah, you know, giving back to the community and whatnot, like when taylor swift was in the hannah montana movie"

cordell lets out a small laugh before asking if she wanted to stay for some pancakes.

"pancakes made by you? i think i'll pass besides i'm a more waffle kind of girl" grace answered

"waffles really?" cordell asked

"yeah, because you can fill every square with syrup" grace answered

"you can fill every square with syrup" cordell responded at the same time

grace smiled before sharing she should get going to the studio, she kind of had set them back a while when she almost broke down. cordell nods his head before asking if she'll see her later before the school dance. grace nodded before remembering now she has to make a setlist for a school dance.

"i should get going, tell stella i'll come by to help her get ready" grace answered before running off

at the studio in between takes, grace was writing down her setlist for the show, simon came over and took a peek.

"i still can't believe you're playing at a high school dance with no cost"

"a family friend begged me to play"

"if you say so, couldn't even slide you a $10 bill at least?"

grace rolled her eyes before finalizing her set list and demonstrating it to simon. most of it were her old songs, and only one was her new song (type of guy).
