"𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲?" 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 grabbing my black hair tie I replied to my boyfriend "around 1:30" Eveytime he would see me get ready for work he was quick to ask what time I would be coming home. He should know by now since i've been coming home as the same time as every other day.

I was a bartender at this bar in the Bronx, which is where I was born in raised. Even if the Bronx wasn't the greatest place to raise your kids it had its pros. Here's one I met my childhood best friend and she's the best. I guess you would know that since I just said that she was my best friend.

Turning off the bathroom light I made my way to my bedroom to grab my small black purse, putting in some of my necessary items in there, I grabbed my keys to my white mercedes benz and shut off the lights.

"you leaving?" Amari questioned "yes" I mumbled. He walked towards me and placed a quick peck on my lips "bye Janelys be careful" he said as I walked out the apartment.

Amari had been acting strange all week which I was starting to question a lot of things in my mind.

"Does he really love me?" I thought to myself

But I quickly shook that thought out of my head. I didn't need to upset myself over nothing he loves me in many different ways and he told me from the beginning that he had a hard time of showing emotion since he didn't have the most affectionate people around him so I always kept that in mind.

I only lived five minutes away so it didn't take me a lot of time to get there, and once I did arrive I walking in through the employes door. I put my purse away in my designated locker with my name on it.

"Hey Janelys" Gianella waved with a tight smile "hi baby" walking quickly over to her and embracing her into a tight hug. "Girl you better hurry and get out there it's dumb busy" taking a peek to the bar area she was right it was busy.

I walked out with Gianella next to me and made my way into the bar area trying not to push past the other people working. "Janelys lemme get four tequila shots" he was one of my regulars who only waited for me to serve him "coming right up Gabe" quickly preparing the four shots I placed them all on the table in front of Gabe and i'm guess the people he came with or bought drinks for. "Thank you Janelys you always know how to do it" Gabe said sending a smile at me.

"To Janelys"

"To Janelys" my co worker Anthony said while he joined Gabe laughing. "You guys play too much" I said laughing.

The night went smooth as always regulars and people I have not seen once in my life walked to the bar ordering drinks after drinks. At first I was a little slow when I started making drink but as time went I started working faster and faster. The more people order the more faster you have to go.

Which is why I assumed this job was difficult but in reality it wasn't.

An unfamiliar man walked up and directed wanted to talk to me "Janelys if yo nigga don't start answering the phone and send me my money ima lose my shit" the fuck is he talking about "huh" I asked confused "he hasn't told you" the guy asked but I shook my head no. "Just let him know that Nano sent him a message" looking at him confusedly because Amari never brought up no Nano. "Alright" I responded turning my head to Anthony.

"You know him?" I asked "he came in here the other day asking for you while you were on break" Anthony replied "but I forgot to tell you."

"I don't know what Amari has going on but if it's interfering with my job ima have to tell him to handle his shit" I said while pouring another drink. "Real Shit" he said.

My feet began to hurt since it was already 12:45 and bartending is no joke this shit be knocking me out to sleep as soon as I walk into my apartment.

Once I had a quick chance to look at my phone I had a text from Amari and my father but I chose to respond later on, my boss was pretty stingy when it came to us using our phones while on work. He was quick to tally the amount of time we used out phones and cut money from our checks and today was not the day that he would try and catch me.

"This is a good friend of mine named Janelys you should get to meet her" Gabe said coming up to the bar with some guy around his arm "Janelys meet Joseph and Joseph meet Janelys" shaking my head at Gabe since he always did this "Gabe you know I have a boyfriend but it's always great to meet more of you friends" I said laughing at him "if you don't want me just say that" Joseph yelled since I couldn't hear him well because of the loud music that played.

"I don't" I replied shrugging  "Janelys please im tired of him being annoying and lonely mad bitches dubbed him tonight" Gabe said "first of all watch the bitch word I tell you this all the time and second of all maybe this isn't the place to find love" I replied.

"Santos enough chit chatting get back to work" My boss said coming around "my bad" I said ignoring Gabe and Joseph.

"What can I get for you" I asked this short blonde woman "hm what would you recommend" she asked "I would have to say sex on the beach" I replied "then I would like to have that" Making the drink for the girl I placed a black straw in it and handed it to her. "Thank you" she said and I replied with "your welcome."

The clock hit 1:30 and it was time to clock out.

"Bye Anthony" I said "you leaving already" he said with a frown "nigga i've been here all night I need sleep" I replied "true" he said. Gianella had already left since she had an earlier shift.

I made my way into the locker area and found my name, opening it I grabbed my black purse and shut the locker and walked right out.

Once I got home and made my way into my shared bedroom with Amari he was sound asleep which I was surprised he was always awake at night doing whatever he did but this time he looked worn out and exhausted. So I just assumed he went out with his friends and barely just got home.

Which is what I thought.

soooo how was it I felt like it was kinda boring at first but trust it will get good i promise and i felt alike it was short but wtv.
