Sometimes, I just couldn't be more proud of my brilliant brain. I wondered, why there were only some names like Einstein, Newton and bla bla bla written on the golden pages of history when me, Tani, had made a whole master plan on how to avoid the eyes of her general husband and sneak into a jeep. Wow.
"He is going to sue my ass. Oh no, oh no." Jimin muttered in a feeble voice, as I quietly leaped into the jeep. Inside wasn't filled yet; the seats were tattered around the edges and the dusty shade of brown upon them was making the overall look slightly dull. Rows of net were attached near the end of the jeep, dividing the driver's seat and common seats from each other. The air was filled in the scent of mans' sweat and strong odor. I flared my nose, and pointed out,
"Don't you men use perfumes at all? I am going to vomit at this rate."
"Do you even know in what are you throwing yourself?" he avoided my question and let out an exhausted sigh, "This jeep will be full in male soldiers. How will you even stay in here?"
"Won't you get in this one?" I waved in the air as a matter of fact, "This is easy. I am gonna sit in that corner." I put my fingers towards the first seat in the jeep, "And put that mattress on me." I showed him the black quilt that must had been there for winter's purposes and I thanked Almighty for that, "And sit there for the rest of the journey. How much time will it take to reach Hanchon?"
Isn't it an awesome plan?
"My words have officially left me and boarded for the train to Busan." he looked sideways and checked if anyone was coming, as I smiled sweetly, "Tani, you trust people so easily. Shouldn't you be more careful? After all, I am still a man."
"What's the problem if you are a man?" I scoffed and shook my head, "You are my friend. Friends always trust each other no matter what."
Jimin released another sigh at my words, tugging his lips upwards a little. Then his eyes suddenly lit up, turning them to see me,
"Tani! What about I ask Seonhee to sit here? She is coming at this direction."
"You - what?" I gaped, gaze wondering here and there while sitting inside the jeep, "That - that girl? Why -"
"She is older than you, Tani. Pay her some respect." the male narrowed his eyebrows and pointed his fingers at me as if I was a five years old kid who has messed with her elder sibling. I mouthed a 'Whatever', and lazily tapped on the mattress.
"Ah, Jimin. Is your packing done?"
A female voice spoke as I jerked my head up at her. She had small hair styled as boys, little fringes falling on her forehead and a green cap placed nicely above her head. Similar to every other generals, she had a black sunglass on her eyes as the sunrays reflected upon them to show my own gawking face back at me. The female was tall, very tall, her shoulders nearly crossing Jimin's and her sleeves tightly wrapped around her elbows.
Like damn. What is this strange tingling sensation in my stomach?
"Whoah..." I whispered in awe, "You look so cool."
At my tone, she finally seemed to realise that Jimin wasn't the only one beside her. She blinked at me, eyes scanning my soul from head to toe and suddenly, I felt like a complete cow under her gaze.
