"Why, Rex?" Lumine asked as she wrapped several bandages around Rex's torso, covering the wound as the young man hummed. "Why do you still keep on fighting?"
"What do you mean by that?" Rex asked, confused as his lifeless dark eyes looked at a worried pair of gold.
"I saw your memories... you were forgotten, abandoned, betrayed."
"Oh?" Rex asked, playfully reaching and pinching the Traveler's cheek. "That's not nice," The young man teased only to stop once Lumine tightened the bandage, making him wince a bit.
"I'm serious! We can stay here in Teyvat," Lumine said looking at her friend and companion. "So why do you still fight?"
"Why?" Rex asked, looking at himself on the mirror of the pocketwatch he carried for so long and through countless worlds. Countless memories, images, and names of those he stood with to those he fought.
"I fight for the men and women I have held in my arms, dying on foreign soil. I fight for all those that remained, the remnants of those who fell in battle or for their beliefs that I chose to carry and bear." Rex said in full confidence, remembering all the memories he had seen, all those that he had read, all those he fought beside. "I fight for my people, I fight for myself and to those that I have led and to those I followed. I fight so all that I have been through will not be for naught, to show the bitter hands of Fate that I will never break," Lumine watched and listened as she looked at her friend.
The battered body filled with scars held a spirit hardened by resolve. The Traveler watched in silence as she looked at the man with golden eyes gleaming with admiration.
"I fight not only because I must, but because I can," Rex said as he looked at her. "More importantly," A soft smile grew on his face as he reached in and caressed her cheek and Lumine leaned in. "I fight so more days like this will come to me,"
