"AN EYE FOR AN EYE.."

---¤𖠁¤---

Walking down the dark hall, lantern in hand, a thin robe in the other. The flames crackling and popping loudly is the only sound she can hear. Tugging the thin robe closer to her, she knew that what she was doing was incredibly stupid, if not the stupidest thing ever done in history. She should not be out at this hour. Nor should she be at the Dragonpits without anyone by her side. But, she had heard Mor'du crying all the way from her chambers. She wanted to make sure that her new dragon was alright. Stupid, yes? But she just wanted to make sure before she went back to sleep.

Rounding the corner, a small screech escapes her lips as she finds Aemond standing at the entrance of the Dragonpit, a large and kind of creepy smile on his face. What in the Seven's name was he doing here? Smoothing out his cloak, he locks eyes with her, his smile growing even more. He seemingly snapped out whatever little trance he was in at the sight of her. Furrowing her brows at the sight of him, there's a stirring feeling in her gut that something was wrong. What was he doing here? What had he done? What had he done?

"Aemond? What are you doing here?" She questions, raising a brow.

"Jocelyn! Jocelyn! You should have seen it! I claimed Vhagar and she flew all over Driftmark! I laid claim to her! It was amazing! My dragon is the largest in the world! No one can ever tell me that⎯" He rambles on, making her furrow her brows together in confusion.

"Wait, you did what?" She asks, her voice cracking slightly.

"I claimed Vhagar, Jocelyn!" He smiles brightly, "She is my dragon now."

"You..You claimed Vhagar?" She stutters, eyes widening as she takes in his words.

"Yes! Yes! She is mine now, Jocelyn!" He nods, "I laid claim to her, Jocelyn!"

Rambling on about how he 'finally' had a dragon, her chest ached at the news, her bottom lip trembling slightly. He claimed Vhagar. He claimed her. Feeling the lantern slip from her hand, the tears in her eyes start to build up, her bottom lip trembling even more. She just buried her sister, and he just claimed Vhagar? Like her sister's death was meaningless. How could he do that? How could he do that to her? She thought they were friends. Friends don't do mean things like that.

Shaking her head back and forth, she hears someone come from down the hall, her head turning to see her nieces and nephews marching towards them. Fear fills her as she realizes that they would soon learn of Vhagar. No. No. No. This was bad. Very bad. Opening her mouth to warn them, her tongue feels like it was made of lead. Heavy and refusing to move. Standing a few feet away from them, there's a mix of confusion and anger on their faces. But, there was also clear hurt too.

"It's him!" Rhaena calls, "And Aunt Jocelyn?"

"It's me.." Aemond smirks, stepping towards her.

"Vhagar is my mother's dragon⎯" Rhaena argues, but he cuts her off.
