Rimuru opened his eyes. A vast and deep black abyss is all he could see. Hollow, empty, nothingness, and all the synonyms that mankind has found to describe such places.

He closed his eyes again, hoping to return. Yet, when his eye's closed, he hears.

Voices from every direction, even within, was heard by him. Whispers, screams, all so sudden that he shot his eyes wide open again and the voice stop.

"What?" He asked himself as he dropped onto the ground. He expected himself to fall, he heard a splash.

"Water?" He felt the cold swarmed his fingers, like how a wave struck a man on the beach.

Then he felt something flows and fell from him, something he himself forgot. Cold sweat, a literal sweat, flows through. From his hair to his nose and the water.

As it falls and create waves from the puddle of water, no sound come's out. He blinks and those voices comes again although only a second.

His breathing turned fast, gasping for air as the air he let out create a wave of it's own.

'What happen?' 'What's going on?' 'Raphael?!'

He called her name, the answer was the silence. He felt his heart pounding fast. He felt so......human.

Felt so...strange.

He then forced himself to close his eyes again, charging head on to the voices, a madman. The voices came closer and louder as time past, how long has it been? A minute? 30 seconds? Or just 1?

He somehow felt the air left his lungs, gasping for hollow air. Somehow, flashes of weird pictures flooded his mind. There's a house on the hill, tall monolith with glasses that sore to the sky, camp fire with men in green, office like room, garden, and much mo-

*Master?*

Rimuru now stands on the balcony of the city hall, gazing onto the people below, monster or not, with a little bit of peace.

He let out a brief sigh as Raphael voices rings on his mind.

*Report, there are no mind interference on a radius of 70 kilometers. Psychic and Soul status are stable and unchange as yesterday. Are you sure there's something wrong, Master?*

"I...don't know."

A knock and opened door was heard behind him with the usual cheery and polite voice.

"Rimuru-sama, your breakfast has arrived." A trolley of sweets entered the room as Shuna put then down onto the table with gentle and neat manner.

Rimuru turned around with a smile, "Thanks Shuna."

Shuna bowed and exited the room.

He's all alone now.

...

Rimuru sighed and took a seat, took a sip from the cup of tea and grab some sweets. As he was about to ate them, there's another knock on the door. Rimuru's eye brows raised and he pit down the cookie on the table.

"Come in."

It was Shion, with a stack of papers that she brought.

"Rimuru-sama, there's another request from Lab-1. It's about the material they needed." She put them on the office table. Where the other stacks of papers are.
