"AVADA KEDAVRA!"
Time is still slow for Tom, Harry and Voldemort, except for the green spell shot out of the Destiny Stick. It shot out like a bullet, zip-zagging in the air—
--towards Harry—
--Voldemort gives an ugly shriek—
It's green and bright.
Tom kept his wand out and steady, heart torn into a mangled sob. Internally praying to whatever deity that may or may not exist. Please, please...
The spell hits Harry. His boy stumbles back in slow motion, eyes closing awfully slowly—Tom's heart drops then—
"HARRY!"
A burst of green, white and gold- magic- escapes and encircles all three of them.
Tom drops his wand, fingers splayed out, trying to reach—
--Harry's two feet lift without accord and he's suspended mid-air, magic escaping out of all three of them. Harry's hand grabs Tom's. Not a second too late, his body is turning and re-emerging on the spot, static back and forth in front of his eyes—
Tom grits his teeth as the storm of their magic collides.
Voldemort clutches his face and wails in pain, his body transforming, from his younger face to his older snake-like face, a flash of all the lives, all the souls, the skins he took. His eyes roll back, veins straining.
Tom's eyes are skewed, digging the heels of his feet, putting strength in his arms, to not be dragged by the hurricane around them.
"Don't let me go," Harry cries in the middle of the turmoil. Tom can feel the bond between them, a single delicate strand and his magic is grasping, grabbing, trying to coil more and attach itself to Harry, whose slipping through his fingers, "Don't. Let. Me. Go.
"Never!" Tom promises.
He's never letting his Harry go without a fight.
Every moment of Tom's life is displayed in a whirlwind, mixed with green and light.
It felt like the sky, the stars were changing overhead, the earth revolving too fast. Tom's core burned and he shouted, sheer strength, hold on hold on.
I'm going to hold on.
His core, the promised bond, is a snake coiling around Harry.
All three of them scream in unison, from pain, from the force of magic. Voldemort and Harry both cry out, light rising out of the hurricane and slingshot back to the planets–
ZAPP!!
Tom and Harry and Voldemort are forced apart, falling on the ground.
Tom looks up, coughing, heart racing, and trying in vain to force his wobbling legs to stand. His core is still burning.
Harry too, although pale and a side of his face blotchy pink and covered in dust, scrabble to rise. The scar on his forehead is gone.
Tom could cry from relief.
He did it. His love protected Harry. He destroyed the bond. Returned the magic of Space and Time to the universe. Harry was his again. No master of space. No chosen one. Just his Harry.
Harry breaks into a smile, clenching and releasing his hand, sharing his sentiment.
"How dare you—"
Tom turns, staring at his doppelganger. Voldemort is no longer bald or snake faced. His face returned to when he was eighteen. His head was thick with voluminous curves and his eyes were brown with a hint of red. Instead of Tom's delight, his face was scrunched up and cruel.
