*Liza's POV*
I couldn't sleep. After I had put Rosco to bed shakily I stumbled to the bedroom, collapsing on the bed. Tears began to stream down my face like a waterfall, but I couldn't dare wake Rosco. I shoved a pillow to my face with as much force as I had right as my sobs became vocally loud.
It was hours later when I finally stirred to the sound of my name being called. "Liza" The voice came again. It wouldn't have been much above a whisper. I looked around my room, trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. "Liza" it said again, a little louder this time. It was then that I noticed a man near the end of my bed. I moved back in my bed. "How do you know my name?" I asked the strange man. It was unusual. Although there was someone I didn't know who had clearly walked into my home, through my house and into my room, his presence didn't spark fear. Instead, much to my surprise, I felt peace. I was disturbed by this, but I felt peace.
"Nathan is in danger, but I am watching over him. God heard your prayers earlier. I've been sent on a mission to assist him, but whether the mission succeeds depends on Nathan. He will need to be brave, and strong to succeed. And courageous. I think he can do it, but he will certainly need your prayers from here. I will do everything in my power to assist him, but ultimately it depends on him."
Puzzled, I asked the man "Who are you?"
"I've already told you too much. Just know that I'm doing all that I can to help Nathan." And with that, he was gone. I rubbed my eyes, and blinked, thinking perhaps I had only imagined him disappearing before my eyes. Nope, still no one there. I started to feel movement on the bed........
"Mummy, wake up!" Rosco was shaking me. "Mummy!" Rosco was almost yelling.
"What's wrong Ros?" I questioned him, coming out of my groggy.. sleep? Had the man been a dream? I squinted my eyes open to the bright light. Rosco must have turned the light on, between that and the light coming from outside, it would be impossible to close my eyes again.
"Mummy, you said we were going to see Daddy last night. Where's Daddy?" His eyes were clearly concerned for his fathers' safety. I reached out and grabbed him in my arms, pulling him into a big bear cuddle.
"Daddy will be home soon" Hopefully sooner than later! "But for now, how about we go and have some pancakes for breakfast?" I cheered, tickling him. His cute little giggle was enough to keep me going. Getting up to make him pancakes, I was hoping and praying against all odds that the man I had seen last night – be it in my dreams or reality I'm still not sure – was right. I spent every second distracted, worrying for Nate, I felt so scared and empty.
