*Nate's POV*

"What the –" I whimpered to myself. I was in just so much shock that I couldn't find the words nor thoughts to solidify how I was feeling. Who was this girl? I found it difficult to wrap my head around the idea of steering clear from her because of her strangeness, where I thought she was bad news. What if she was the good guy?

I was either too deep into my own thoughts or it was the way she hovered silently. The door handle creaked. It was Sophie! I didn't even hear her coming and I had nowhere to go. The smartest thing I could think to do was duck by the bed in hopes she doesn't see me.

I watched her feet from under the bed as she approached the strange girl.

"Oh, deary me, look at you..." she sighed. I could almost picture Sophies brilliant blue eyes scanning that strange girl to assess what has happened.

"Now how can we manipulate your mind by warping your surroundings if you don't have your Sweet Sunshine Medicine?" Sophie taunted almost sarcastically.

I hadn't seen that side of her before, but then again I suppose it's her job and by the sounds of everything, her actions mean life or death for her. I couldn't shake the passive aggressive sarcasm in her voice. Was she enjoying this? And did she just say it was "Sweet Sunshine Medicine"?

I heard her shuffle around and fix the bedding as the young girl on the bed went limp. What is this medicine that Sophie is forcing on the young lady and I?

To my shock, she didn't see me. I wouldn't have been surprised if she sniffed me out at that point. I could see her turn elegantly on her heels and leave the room. How was she so perfect? Her scent was even inviting. Lingered in the room almost making me dizzy.

There was no time to daydream, I had to get out of there. I was lucky enough to last as long as I did without getting caught or even killed. Knowing that Sophie had left and being 97 percent sure nobody else had entered, I sat up to a crouched position where I could see the young girl. Her hair still looked oily and raggedy but her face was calm as if she was in the midst of a lovely dream. As I watched her, I started to wonder what her story was and what get her in the hell of a place, I was sure she didn't deserve it. Just like me, I didn't deserve to be in the hell hole... did I?

Once again, I found myself drifting off into thought. I NEEDED to figure out what I was doing and how I were to get out! I ducked out from behind the bed and attempted to tiptoe over to by the door. I listened attentively to check if anyone was on the other side. It was silent so just to be safe, I peeked through that gap in the paint that I had noticed earlier. I couldn't see anything.

Slowly I pushed the door open praying that nobody or thing was on the other side, to my luck the hallway was bare. After closing the girls door as quietly as I possibly could I quickly crept to the hospital room that I had be imprisoned in and shut the door. It was time to put in my back-up plan. In the case that any other plan fails.

Sometimes I made good moves and decisions. Just like making sure I kept the piece of metal with me, it seemed to be great for getting out of places. Making sure that there wasn't anyone or thing patrolling the halls, I held the door open partially and studied the mechanism that latches into the hold of the door frame. I pushed the latch in and out as I found that there was a slight gap beside where it was able to move.

I then wedged the handy piece of metal beside the latch, it was rather difficult as it barely fit but after some slight grunting and elbow grease, it was in there snug. This allowed me to push the latch in all the way without having it spring back out. My plan had worked and the door was now permanently unlocked. I just hoped that Sophie nor anyone else would notice that there was no latch noise once they had closed the door. I closed the door quietly and pulled it open again just to check if it worked as planned... it sure did.

Out of nowhere the door just before me swung open with great force. Sophie had snuck down the hall to my room and I wasn't prepared. To be fair she probably didn't sneak, she was simply silent, and I didn't keep a constant eye on the hallway. But there I was, face to face with complete beauty. I felt suffocated in her aura and scent while she looked at me confused with her beautiful blue eyes.

She looked at me with confusion and a hint of passion. "Sweetie, what are you doing?"
