The train approached the final station and slowed down. Newt was bending down, feeding the baby Qilin, which was poking its head out of the case.
"You're all right, little one." Newt said, stroking the Qilin, before carefully closing the case, the Qilin disappearing inside it.
"Berlin..." Lally said, smiling. "Beautiful."
The train stopped, and we collected ourselves. Yusuf was first to the door. He was about to leave, when Uncle Theseus stopped him.
"Kama. Stay safe." He said. Yusuf nodded, before looking at me and nodding. I nodded back, then he headed out.
Bunty walked over to Newt, who was near the entrance.
"I must be going too now, Newt." She informed him. She gripped Newt's case tightly. I frowned at her as Newt looked down at her hand in panic. How could she take Newt's case without his permission?!
"No one can know everything. Not even you." Bunty said mysteriously. Newt finally let go of the case, still concerned. I wanted to snatch Newt's case from her and give it straight back to Newt. Too late. Bunty walked off with the case, and out of sight. Newt and I both went over to the window, Newt frowning in worry. Now I really wanted to hug him.
"Right," Uncle Theseus said, holding onto Newt's shoulder lightly. "We'd best get going, Newt. And seeing that none of us know where in the name of Merlin we're going, you'd best lead the way."
Newt nodded, and Uncle Theseus released his light grasp. Newt bent down to pick up his case, before realising it wasn't there. I felt angry tears swell up in my eyes. What was Bunty going to do with Newt's case?! I wanted to run out and punch her, to get his case back! Newt might've trusted her, but I certainly didn't!
"So, uh, where're we headed, Newt?" Jacob asked as we exited the train. Newt shrugged.
"Hold on." He said, reaching his hand out. We all took Newt's hand (Lally made sure that she was the last to put her hand on so I could hold her hand without suspicion), and Newt apparated away.
We arrived in the streets of Berlin.
"Right, well, here it is." Newt said as he started walking. We followed. I gathered that at least Jacob was confused, and I wasn't the only one to want to question where we were headed.
We reached a wide alleyway, which Newt swiftly walked through, despite it being a dead end. We followed, but Jacob and I were both slightly hesitant. Lally took Jacob's hand and walked through... they all walked through a wall. I walked through the wall too, not knowing whether I could pass through it, where it ended up, why we were going through it, or anything else. I just had to trust Newt and the others with this one...
I emerged on the other side of the wall to find myself with the rest of the group (I had to stop myself abruptly to not run into Newt, who was right in front of me when I got through). I looked around and realised where we were...
"The German Ministry of Magic." Uncle Theseus said to Newt, who nodded vaguely.
"Yes."
"I take it we're here for a reason." Uncle Theseus continued.
"Yes. We have a tea ceremony to attend. And if we don't hurry up, we'll be late." I had no time to marvel the place, as we started walking down the steps, towards the centre of the Ministry. I followed next to Lally. Lally and I looked back at Jacob, who was following the rest of us, but further behind.
"Jacob!" Lally called out. Jacob looked at her, confused. "Stay with the group!"
Jacob continued walking, and before long, we reached the entrance to the building. Newt and Uncle Theseus walked up the steps, but Lally and Jacob were stopped by German Aurors, who held them back.
