I quickly snapped my fingers again as I felt the Polyjuice Potion wear off. I disappeared from sight just in time to see Newt and Uncle Theseus sit up. I tried not to laugh when I saw the back of their clothes covered in leaves. Uncle Theseus looked down to see the Manticore's antennae still attached to him. He swiftly stood up and knocked it off him and watched as it slithered into the Black Lake. Newt immediately stood up."Where's the other girl?" He asked, looking around for me (or 'Abby').
"Abby? I don't know, Newt." Uncle Theseus called out a couple of times for me, before looking Newt in the eyes, a look of realisation hitting him. "Newt, I don't think she made it."
"What?" Newt said, looking around again for me. "But... I was going to look after her! Where... she's really gone?" He asked, before he hung his head a little.
"I'm sorry, Newt." Uncle Theseus said, hugging Newt, who looked a little stiff, I noted.
"You're still a hugger..." Newt said. Uncle Theseus chuckled. Newt looked down at Uncle Theseus's tie. "It was a Portkey."
"Yep." Uncle Theseus said, inspecting it. Teddy and Pickett emerged from Newt's coat. Newt looked down at them proudly.
"Well done, you two." He said, before looking around with Uncle Theseus to work out where we were. I knew already, and they did too as they looked up at the magnificent castle that had homed them both for years, and the place I called home.
Hogwarts.
Newt, Uncle Theseus and I walked towards the castle.
"That girl, Abby." Newt said suddenly.
"What about her?" Uncle Theseus asked.
"She called you 'Uncle Theseus'. Did you notice?" I looked at them both with slight fear.
"Yes. I noticed. She was probably traumatized in that place, Newt. Maybe she hoped we would take her in."
"But she never knew your name." Newt said, frowning. "I never told her."
Uncle Theseus stopped abruptly, before shaking his head and continuing. "Sorry. It's just... No... Newt, you must've told her. Maybe you accidentally did?"
"I definitely didn't." Newt pointed out. "I'm certain of it. It's just... Lia always... called you 'Uncle Theseus'... Do you think...?"
Uncle Theseus sighed. "She died, Newt. We saw her die. Grindelwald even told us it was the end for her."
"Maybe she never actually died, Theseus. She could've been Abby, for all we know..." Newt said, his eyes glimmering with hope.
"Even if it was Abby, Newt, she still died. I mean, she isn't here now, is she?"
Newt sighed and nodded. "You're right. I'm just... I'm just being paranoid..."
I desperately wanted to give him a hug. I knew I couldn't, so I just touched his palm again briefly, before releasing my touch.
"What... what was that?" Newt asked, looking down at his hand.
"What was what?" Uncle Theseus asked.
"I thought... Someone touched my hand." Newt said, before he sighed. "I'm definitely going mad..."
We soon made it into the castle, where I actually saw Edwin and the others. I decided to trick them by flapping Evelyn's robe up so it covered her face. I then went over to Edwin and held his hand, tracing 'L-I-A' onto it with my other hand. I raced back to Newt and Uncle Theseus, who looked over at the group. Evelyn sorted her robe out (much to the amusement of the others, especially Edwin, who knew it was me that had done it) as Newt and Uncle Theseus walked over to them.
