saturday finally came, and it was finally time for hanbin to get ready for his date. he was nervous since it was his first time going on a date after years of not doing it. he gets ready to wear a neat outfit to satisfy his date. he chose a brown shirt with black jeans and a pair of white sneakers, topped with a sling bag, really getting into the boyfriend look.

hanbin went outside his room to greet his mom and told her that he will be leaving in the evening.

"I'll be back around 5 PM. see you, mom." hanbin hugged his mom before leaving his house, getting in his car, and driving to the date spot that they agreed to meet on.

it was around 10 minutes ride from hanbin's house to the cafe. it was currently evening and the weather was kind of gloomy, it was predicted to rain so hanbin brought an umbrella just in case.

when he reached the cafe, he turned the machine off and went inside. he was welcomed with the aromatic scent of coffee and sweets, such as cakes and bread. when looking for the girl, hanbin double-checked the photo, since he didn't want to mistake the girl waving at him for someone else.

"hanbin! here!" the girl excitedly shouted. she was wearing a pretty blouse and a white long skirt with white heels.

"oh- hello. ha naeul, right?" hanbin asked and the girl nodded.

hanbin carefully took the seat and they stared at each other for a few seconds before naeul opened her mouth.

"I can't believe that I'm seeing you face to face like this. sung hanbin, mine for a day, what a dream." she excitedly said, grabbing hanbin's hands and shaking them up and down due to excitement.

hanbin didn't know what to do with the sudden skinship, but he remembered the rules he made with matthew, skinship is fine as long as it didn't direct to something too personal or sexual. holding hands or arms are fine.

"glad to be here. I'm new to this thing so I'm kind of nervous." hanbin confessed as the girl chuckled, letting go of hanbin's hands.

"it's fine! i won't expect some kind of overly boyfriend acts. I'm just happy that the boy i had a crush on for years is finally talking with me." she confessed, smiling widely and looking at hanbin with sincere eyes.

"oh- uhm-" hanbin was confused, he didn't know what to do with the sudden confession so he just laughed it off.

"don't worry, you don't need to say anything to that. so, what have you been doing these days, love?" she said, all blushing because of the cute nickname directed at hanbin.

"oh- nothing much, just studying. what about you? I saw you getting compliments from the teacher yesterday." hanbin said, trying to keep the conversation going even though naeul seem like an extrovert anyway.

"I finished my assignments earlier than expected so he did compliment me for doing a good job. you're always complimented by the teachers, hanbin, I'm kind of jealous." she joked while giggling.

the rest of the day, they spent hours just talking and getting to know each other more. hanbin found out that she went to the same middle school as him, but they didn't know each other since they kept on being in different classes. they talked about some nostalgic things that happened on sports day, the school event, etc.

naeul felt really comfortable talking with hanbin, sharing her worries and dreams and just everything. hanbin on the other hand, found naeul quite an entertaining person as she showed really great reactions to what hanbin said, mostly about his studies but she didn't mind.

until the scheduled time has come to an end. they finished their talk and their coffees too.

"thank you for being with me, hanbin. even though it's just one day, i truly feel like I'm loved and taken care of." she honestly said, making hanbin blushes a bit since it was still new to him.

"thanks for giving me a chance," she said before getting up from her seat.

"h-hey wait- i got this for you. thank you for using my service too." hanbin got up and held her hand, giving her a flower and a keychain as gratitude.

"if only my real boyfriend is like this..." she said, which made hanbin quite confused and surprised.

"wait what?" hanbin asked but she just smiled.

"i guess this count as cheating, but honestly, I didn't know that you were going to open this kind of service when I was about to confess my love to another man. I'm not even sure if I like like him." she looked down, her smile almost fading away.

"but don't worry! he doesn't care about this kind of stuff nor does he cares about me. yesterday we went on a date and all he did was play on his phone," she said, looking sad and almost teary.

"I might've bumped into your boyfriend yesterday." hanbin confessed.

"yeah. i confessed to him. I know he doesn't like me, but I wanted someone to be with me." she said, still holding her tears.

"i guess I'm just a hopeless romantic." she began to shed tears as hanbin got up panicking.

"see you, hanbin, and thank you." before hanbin can do anything, she left him and went inside her car, driving away.

"... I hope she's okay..."

after that, hanbin suddenly got a phone call. it was matthew. he picked it up and was surprised by how loud matthew's voice is.

"HANBIN! HOW WAS YOUR DATE?!" he asked, his voice sounding worried.

"bro chill, you're gonna bust his eardrums." another voice was heard by hanbin. it was jiwoong in the background as hanbin just chuckled at his friend's behavior.

"it went well, surprisingly." hanbin said, smiling.

"thank jesus and heavens above," matthew said as hanbin just began to laugh.

"yeah no shit bro, maybe you're not that bad with girls." jiwoong compliment him.

"maybe because she's in my class? I don't know. she was quite the extrovert so I didn't have to do much." the black-haired said, making matthew and jiwoong 'oooohh' out loud.

"well then, buckle up boi cause you got another one coming," matthew said over the phone.

"this girl broke up with her boyfriend yesterday and she needed someone to go to the movies with her. she said she didn't want to go alone," matthew explained.

"i can manage that. just send me the place and picture." hanbin said and then matthew hang up on the call.

hanbin let out a long sigh after the tiredness of socializing reached him.

"what's with people not having good terms with their boyfriends..."
