Chapter 7 - The Game begins! : Roget Vs Xander

Xander sat on his Bed silently. He was deep in thought. He knew this whole thing was just too weird. Roget isn't the type to play with his enemies like this, he likes playing a tactical game, a chess match if you will. Teasing was not his forte. So why force him into this friendship cup? Why put him in a teasing position? Out of all the possible answers, only one seemed viable. Roget wanted something and he knew that Xander wouldn't let him get it. So then, the tactical move becomes trap your opponent so they can't stop you. That's right up Roget's alley. But what did he want to get his hands on? And why give Xander time to think this over? None of it made sense... Until Xander Heard the lock click in his door. He watched as the door opened and a blue-Haired woman came in. 'This must be that Mina girl Diren and Terrance were on about' And his assumption was correct. "Hello mr. Masayuki, my name is Mina. I'm the right hand in Sector security." Xander brought his knee up to rest his arm on it and said "I figured that out, My teammates mentioned you once. What do you want?" She pulled a parcel from her pocket and handed it to him. "Mr. Roget asked me to give this to you." Xander took the Parcel and opened it. Inside was a chess piece. A Black knight. 'Why would he want to give me this?' Xander thought. Then he saw that on the inside of the wrapping was a date. This date was six years ago, that very day, one year before Xander Left Duel academy. It was the time that Roget was still Xander's upperclassman, and still had his respect. 'Why this date? What happened then....' Xander thought for a moment before the events of that day came back to him.

"And that's Checkmate Masayuki!" "Argh! God damn it! One more game Roget, please!" Roget let out a small chuckle before saying "I appreciate the enthusiasm but that's quite enough for today." Xander grumpily slammed his head into the table and caused one of Roget's pieces to fall: The black knight. The same Black knight. Roget picked up the piece and looked at it in his hand. "What's so interesting about that?" Asked Xander. "Well I've always wondered about the black knight. Knights are always the "Shining armour" Type so why is it black? Now, of course it's for the game's mechanics but..." He paused as he sat back in his chair. "I like to think it's more complex than that. I like to think that the black knight was a good man once but his mind was corrupted, wiped and distorted. And that's what turned him into a player for the enemy team. If he ever got his memory back, he'd go straight back to his right side...." Xander was in awe at the description Roget gave. It was Quite the curious thought. "But at the end of the day it's just a chess piece, nothing more." Roget said as he got up. But before he left, he looked back at Xander and said "Right, Xander?" "R-right...." Something about the way he said that, the way he looked at him, it made Xander feel like he meant more. It was the beginning of Xander losing Trust in Higher level Academy Students and staff which led him to leave.

'So that's how you're playing it Roget.... You've mind wiped an academy student and put a mole in our group huh?!' Xander's rage was so intense that he tightened his grip to the point the chess piece dug into his hand and made him bleed! "Oh! Are you ok?!" Asked Mina. "I'm fine... thanks for delivering this, I appreciate it...." Mina felt uneasy about his tone. But Roget said they knew each other so this must have just been an inside thing right? Either way, she didn't want to stick around to find out so she started leaving. "Wait." Said Xander. The affirmative Voice made Mina freeze in her tracks. She turned to listen to him. "Be careful Mina. You never know what could happen in life, and you shouldn't trust Roget." "Why are you warning me?" Asked Mina. Xander Shrugged "Guess I just don't want a nice girl to be taken advantage off." 'Nice girl....' He thought she was a nice girl and they'd met like, two minutes ago! Combined with his attractive face, Mina couldn't help but blush as she thanked him and left, locking the door behind her. Xander held the piece so he could see it clearly. Who could've Roget planted in their group? Xander knew it wasn't one of his team, so it had to be a lancer. But who?It couldn't be Yuzu or Selina, he knew that much. Declan was highly unlikely. Gong isn't the Type to do this. Sylvio would let it slip in a second. And Riley's a kid. That only left a few options. It could be Yuya, he might be some sort of Genetic clone of Yuri. That Yuto guy might've been a Dysfunctional one. But it can't, if it was he wouldn't have had that outburst about only yuzu when they arrived in synchro. Xander Looked at the chess piece again. Maybe it had a clue. It was definitely the same Piece as in the memory, but the only weird thing on it was Scratched in answers to an English test and Xander's blood. Heh, the blood made it look like the mane was red. Red hair on a horse! Red hair.... Red hair, Red head! How could he have overlooked him?! Dennis hasn't said a thing about where he's from, not even to the lancers! And He's shown signs of amnesia! And That outfit! He saw that outfit at a school dance! How could it take Xander this long to put the pieces together?! Dennis Is the Mole!!!
