Blyke was resting in the infirmary. John- I mean Joker, beat him up. Blyke eyes opened and he looked at his friends that were worried for him.

"Blyke! You're awake!" Remi said.

"How are you feeling?" Mia asked.

"Sore?" Blyke replied, "How long have I been here?"

"Most of the day, school's almost over," Remi replied.

Blyke tried to sit up on the bed, just to feel the pain shoot up his body, "YEOUCH!"

"Don't move so much," Mia helped him sit up.

"DAMN IT!" Blyke punched the bed, just to regret it a second later when pain shot up his arm, "AUGH!"

"Take it easy!" Remi said.

But Blyke was pissed off. Joker was strong even without Blyke's ability. Once Joker got it, he showed Blyke the difference in their skills. Blyke felt humiliated that he was beaten so badly with his own power.

Remi tried to comfort him, saying that Joker has the jump, but Blyke knew that Joker's anonymity made Joker even stronger.

Mia was quiet, she knew who it was. The guy who brutalized two of her friends. But what was ousting him going to do? If anything, she thought him being masked right now keeps him under some leash. But it's not enough. John has to have a weakness, right? Everyone does.

Remi raised a good question though, if Joker simply mirrored abilities, then shouldn't the fights be even?

"So somehow, his ability lets him boost the power?" Mia said.

"It wasn't an exact duplicate. His Energy Beam seemed like an amplified version of mine. He did things that I haven't been able to do," Blyke said.

"What about you Isen? Did he amp your ability too?" Remi asked.

"Hm... Well, he stopped my punch cold. So he was definitely much stronger than me at the time," Isen recalled, "But he also had three other abilities with him, so I can't really be sure."

"OH, so there's a possibility he can hold at least four amped abilities at one time. Great, what the hell do we do against that?" Blyke said.

"At least we know his limit now," Mia said, "Or at least I hope that's his limit."

"We don't have much to work off yet, but he has to have limits! If we can figure out what he's planning or who his next targets are, that'll give us a chance to intercept. He can't keep getting away with this!" Remi said.

"Yeah, we'll stop him," Blyke said while Mia and Isen looked at each other.

They left the infirmary after that, Remi headed to class and Mia and Isen went up to the rooftop, finding Arlo. Arlo and Isen talked, Mia didn't say much, but the revelation of John being the King at New Boston, shocked her.

Arlo used his ability, putting a barrier around Isen and shrinking it. He yelled at Isen, taking out some of his frustration on him.

"What good is this information to me now? It's too late! I've already lost to him!"

"I've already lost to him!"

Mia's eyes widened. Arlo lost. Arlo. Lost. He obviously wasn't invincible, but he was strong. The ranking of the top three at Wellston was Seraphina, Mia, then Arlo. But now, John transferred in and he was stronger than Arlo and Seraphina lost her ability. So that means Mia was the only one left. Mia was the last one.
