DTD 2.10 | TRANQUIL. That is how the last few weeks have felt with Roman. If Nyane wasn't at home, which was most of the time, she was at Roman's. He dropped her off at school, picked her up when he could, and went on dates in the meantime. She spent most nights with Roman as well. It was like she was practically living with him. Though her parents thought she was just sleeping over Donicas or Sage's. They brushed it off as a "teenage" thing as why she didn't stay home.

And sometimes she did spend the night over their house. When Roman and the Quileute went hunting after Victoria she stayed over her friends house. Anything to get it off her mind about how useless she was.

Then there was Amenadiel. The angel had no sense of timing. He would pop up out of nowhere to train Nyane. Doesn't matter if she was at her friends house or with Roman. Anytime Amenadiel felt like it was convenient for him to pop in.

Right now, Nyane and Roman were having a picnic together on top of one of the mountain cliffs as waited for the sun set. Roman had fixed up a beautiful assortment of their favorite sushi, a charcuterie board of different cheeses with bread and fruit. Roman was a sweet romantic.

"If I didn't know any better I would think you were fatting me." Nyane said as Roman fed her a cheese and bread combo.

Roman chuckled. "I just want to make sure you're well and happy."

"Does gaining weight equal me happy?"

Roman poked at her sides making her giggle. He pulled her closer onto his lap.  "I love you no matter how much weight you gain. Besides happy weight looks good on you."

Nyane gave Roman a small peck on his lips before turning to watch the sun set. "Isn't this incredible, Roman?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.

Roman nodded, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "Yeah, it's something else. Nature has a way of putting things into perspective."

Nyane chuckled softly. "You sound like you've done this before."

He grinned, a hint of playfulness in his eyes. "Well, not always on top of a mountain, but I do appreciate some quiet time in nature."

The couple relaxed for the next thirty minutes before deciding to pack up.

"I'm going to start taking this stuff to the truck," Roman announced, holding up the small table and blanket.

"I'll be there in a minute," Nyane replied, her tone distracted as she finished packing up the food. Roman made his way back to the truck to put away the items.

Nyane moved swiftly to stow away the food, her movements hurried. Just as she stood up to leave, her name pierced the air, causing her to freeze. Slowly, she turned to see a striking young woman with flawless medium-dark skin, an elegant figure, and a cascade of dark hair that seemed to flow like silk. The woman's smirk sent an uneasy shiver down Nyane's spine.
