"How is he?" I asked, chewing on my lip as I held my ring to my nose, inhaling Jungkook's scent in an attempt at soothing myself and my omega.
Taehyung exhaled. "I think... I think he's doing better. He has a job now. He claims to be seeing his psychiatrist now too, and he seems to be trying to do other things that he won't tell us about."
"Did he get the bus card?"
"I don't know why you bought it for him, but yes."
"You didn't tell him it was from me, right? He couldn't smell me on it?"
"I made sure of it."
"Okay." I closed my eyes. "He... he's doing so much better. Maybe... maybe he's better without me. Maybe I didn't foster an environment necessary for his growth. Maybe he'll find someone better and live a long and fulfilling life with them. Someone who will meet his father. Maybe he'll even meet their family."
"That's not going to happen. Jungkook is dead set on winning you back. He keeps talking about how he has a plan and that he doesn't want to wait any longer."
Sighing, I looked at my leg in the boot. "I'm still waiting to see if these meds will work. Honestly, I'm glad he's been getting better. Me, on the other hand, not so much. I have the same shitty job where I have to deal with someone who doesn't even have the necessary past with JK to be his 'ex.' She acts like she was his girlfriend and that I stole him. Did I seduce him? Kinda, but that would've only led to a physical relationship if anything."
"You know how that family is. The Lees just want to become more influential within the Nightshade Pack. The two big Busan packs are the Nightshade and Sapphire packs. There are lesser packs that aren't made up of as many clans, but here, you'd rather be a lesser member of one of the big two than a pack leader of a lesser pack. She would've gone after a spot in the Sapphire Pack if she wasn't straight."
I couldn't help but laugh. "I doubt Sohee would spare her a glance. Her girlfriend is one of my coworkers. Sohee has taste. Jungkook and Soyoon are top tier. Hae-won is bottom of the barrel and ugly. And you know I'm talking solely on personality. I don't call women ugly regarding appearance. Having that much hatred towards queer people and omegas... she would make a terrible leader."
"It's the fact that she refuses to acknowledge Jungkook is bi for me."
"Do you know how hard it has been to try and convince Jungkook that he doesn't have to get a bi tattoo to 'prove' he's gay?" I giggled.
"He was the one who saw battle-ax bi merch and almost bought it before you told him what it meant. The look on his face was so funny. He started going on and on about how he isn't opposed to using the other labels himself, but that he likes the colors for the bi flag the best."
"Jungkook is just a silly lil guy." I got up and limped to the bathroom, wincing at my appearance. There were still tons of bruises and marks littering my body.
"Are you okay?" Taehyung asked.
"Yeah. It just still hurts. I haven't healed yet."
Taehyung sighed. "I know. Jungkook keeps talking about showing up at your apartment just so he and his alpha can heal you. Aera stopped him from spitting in a mason jar for you."
"That's so—I don't even know what to say." I shook my head. "When you think about it like that, the fact you lick your mate's wounds is pretty gross."
"Like you don't do worse! Jungkook threw a fit about your scent not being as strong on him and that he 'needs omega's cum and slick all over' so he can smell like you again."
