"Shouldn't you focus more on necessities rather than your figures and gaming stuff?" Jimin asked me while carefully wrapping my limited edition Iron Spider figurine signed by both Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr.
I sat beside him and pushed his hair behind his ear, kissing his lips softly. "Mmm, I'll fold up what we can bring. Hopefully, Appa will just have my stuff stored until he gets over whatever this is."
Jimin's eyebrows screwed together as his honey-lavender scent spiked with confusion. "I dunno, Koo. Are you sure this is something he'll just get over?"
"Absolutely."
"What did you do to upset him anyway?"
"I spent a little too much money and dropped out of college."
He stilled. "You what?"
"Dropped out."
"Why would you do that?"
"I realized it wasn't for me. Everyone was pressuring me about networking, curating my LinkedIn, and all kinds of shit. Studying in preparation to be the pack head seemed useless. None of those professors were connected to a pack family at all. I could've just learned from Appa."
Jimin exhaled as he secured the bubble wrap around the figure and placed it in the box with precision. "You should've told him that you wanted to change your major a long time ago rather than dropping out. I think he would have supported you."
"Look, school just isn't for me. You used to tutor me. You know how it is. The amount of focus. All the stimulus. It was too much. Plus, it hasn't been the same since you graduated."
"Oh, Koo. You should have explained this to your father and then figured things out rather than just dropping out. You need to learn how to communicate with him."
"I'm fine at communicating."
"Then why doesn't he know about me?"
There was a pregnant pause as I searched for a response. "There's never been a good time. We've been over this."
"Sometimes, I think you're embarrassed of me."
"Park Jimin—" I pinched the bridge of my nose. "You know of my reputation. My father certainly is no stranger to it."
Jimin glares at the packing tape, scent spicy and overbearing. "I'm more than aware. You never took me seriously in the beginning. I would try and flirt at the library or your penthouse, but you never paid me any attention. You had a lot of different scents on you, none of them mine."
"Exactly. I was a fuck boy since I reached the age of sixteen. My father hated that, but my alpha is insatiable. What would he think? He'd think you were just some fling instead of my intended mate."
"Have you ever thought that hiding me and sneaking me around the pack house and other events could further establish that I'm just a piece of meat rather than your boyfriend?"
My eyes widened. "Holy shit. Baby, I didn't mean to do that. Would you be okay with me telling my dad and all that could come after that? You'd be expected to be my date to important pack members and people would already see you as their future head omega and constantly wonder when we're going to have pups. I didn't—yeah, maybe I need to stop making assumptions." I pulled my hair.
"Stop pulling your hair. That's my job." He teased, releasing soothing pheromones. "Having all of those eyes on me would be anxiety-inducing, but that's something I've been prepared for. Plus, again, you're just assuming your father would make us into a poster couple for the pack. Stop being such a silly alpha and learn how to express your feelings around your father instead of acting nonchalant and apathetic. It's a big reason you're in this situation in the first place."
