Chapter Five

Tariq addressed the crowd before him with a heavy heart. It has been almost twenty four hours and still no sign of his mate. His wolf hasn't spoken to him since morning blaming him for her kidnapping. He was an Alpha. He needed his Luna to rule. Ric learnt this the hard way and now he couldn't help but feel he lost her again. He blinked the frustrated tears that threaten to give way. He was an alpha. He needed to be strong. He needed to find his Luna and punish those who kidnapped her. Ric stood straighter and began to address the crowd of members of the order. "All you all are aware a member of the Gemini Coven was kidnapped last night when an explosion of an unknown origin disrupted the dinner my Pack planned for the Order of Superno members. She was taken by a vampire that was not part of any clans present however after discussions with several members of the Order this morning I have good cause to believe it was an inside job..." The crowd started to mummer by themselves. "It is no secret that a bill was meant to be passed at this coming meet that would have seen all packs, clans and covens that were not part of the Order either join or be eliminated. This as you all know might cause a few uprisings among super naturals. I believe the kidnapping of Amelia Amor was their first message however many might not know but Amelia is my mate and the Luna of Moonstone Pack..." Again the crowd went wild. Ric calm them down and continued. "Therefore if I find anyone here involved in the act of kidnapping my mate I will personally see that they die at my hands...." Ric was about to go on but was interrupted when Zan barged through the doors and ran straight towards him....

Emily snuggled deeper into the warmth that surrounded her. She heard a chuckle but did not venture to open her eyes to seek its source. She was quite comfortable where she was. Somehow she felt better and oddly safe and protected. She must have been rescued and bought to safety. Emily decided to rest where she was until she gained her strength fully. Then she would warn Ric about a possible uprising. She wondered where he was but little did she know she was currently cuddled up with her mate who kept a loving, protective watch over her throughout the night.

Sunshine drifted into the bedroom and awoke Ric from his resting place next to his mate. He gently rose trying not to wake her and she slept soundly. He still couldn't believe he had her in his arms safe and sound. When Zan ran into the meeting and announced that they found her he was ecstatic. That was until he actually saw her. His wolf went crazy at the sight of his mate. Her body was half dressed and battered. There was blood all over her and a huge bump at her temple. If he had not known that the man holding Emily in his arms was her cousin Lief – a buff Black Claw hunter who was part of the search party along with his pregnant wife Fea he would have gone ballistic at some male touching his mate. However he wasted no time in demanding her from him and rushing her to the where the pack's doctor treated her and a female omega washed and dressed her. All of this happened under his watchful eyes. He spent the entire time growling at them to be careful with her till Tate came and dragged him to his office where Lief, Fea and Scarlet were waiting. Zan and Marcy was suspiciously absent but he found out from Scarlet that Marcy was Zan's Bond mate which was very surprising to Ric since he taught Zan's mate was dead. They reviewed all they knew but still couldn't come to terms about the details surrounding Emily's abduction. All the members were planning to return to their respective homes in the morning since Emily was found. He had ensured them he was investigating and would let them know his progress. They all decided to be on the alert in case of a war and stall on the bill for now. Emily shifted next to him bringing him back to the present. He wanted to get up and get her breakfast in case she woke but he hesitated enough to give her a fleeting kiss on her forehead before leaving the room.
