Preface
As Nico griped Sophie's gloveless hand.
His eyes glowed a menacing blood red.
The ground trembled and split.
Green fire boiling in each of the cracks.
Then something happened that made Sophie understand.
Understand so much.
Things that should have been clear to her before this.
But like always she had overlooked it, and it had been her downfall.
She stared in disbelief, as the dead rose from the cracks, bony hands grasping at the edges.
The dead turned to stare at their enemies.
A solid wall of bone.
She only stopped staring when she no longer felt Nico's hand in hers.
She looked down and froze.
Fear spread through those around her as they screamed.
Except she felt courage, and she knew who had given it to her.
