"The two girls faced each other, both with tears in their eyes. One was sat down, and the other stood still. In the eyes of outsiders and onlookers, the two girls would have been the cover for two of the most beautiful girls at Hogwarts, and perhaps even beyond the walls of the castle. And yet they argued and fought to be the prettiest with total disregard of the people who couldn't even stand a chance against the two. What a completely ignorant fight."
Draco Malfoy read off the Daily Prophet as narrated by Reeta Skeeter on the private conversation between Pansy and Alicia. He snickered with the rest of the Slytherin table in the Great Hall wherein Alicia and Pansy soon emerged and weasled their butts in between the slimey gits who laughed their faces off at the paper. The two girls gave each other a look and rolled their eyes.
Pansy snatched the paper from Draco and spread it out with Alicia for them to read together. The paper went into great detail about how "out of touch" their argument was and how silly the two of them acted as if they weren't the picture perfect best friends in the whole of the wizarding world. It continued to shame them for "hypocritical judgements on the basis of empathy when neither of them could empathize with starving children in the wizarding world."
"Ugh!" scowled Pansy. "How can she possibly make such a heartfelt conversation so ratty!"
Alicia laughed. "My mother always said any press is good press." She took a bite off her yogurt.
Pansy giggled before ripping the paper into shreds and dusting them to the ground with her fingers. "I'm just glad my name is on there."
Alicia smiled and look to her yogurt, skimmed and low-fat because it's all Pansy had in her mini fridge and Alicia was craving. She couldn't be bothered by the paper. She'd gotten into many scandals in her eighteen years of living. What she couldn't get off her mind though, was whatever it was that occured between and her and professor Snape last night as she wept in her dress in the stairwell. It was Sunday. Her and Pansy had planned to go to Hogsmeade for a little get-together and perhaps get acquainted with one another again. And she wondered if she could trust Pansy with what had happened.
She kissed her professor. Not just any professor. She kissed Snape. She was convinced she'd only done it since Snape was practically the only one who seemed to be on her side the past couple of weeks, even if he wasn't very fond of her. She'd trusted his company as she didn't really have a choice with the countless detentions they were to spend together. Come Monday, she'd be forced to endure hours of detention with him in seclusion. At this point, she didn't trust herself.
She'd never seen herself being attracted to Snape. She'd never thought of Snape that way. She viewed him as her superior, her teacher, a grumpy man with a failing libido (thus explaining the grumpiness.) So why did she all of a sudden kiss him? She would've never dome that with Headmaster Dumbledore, maybe because he was, like, a hundred years old. She might've done it with professor Gilderoy Lockhart, he was a cutie. So maybe it was just in the moment.
Though he didn't necessarily pull away...
Pansy nudged her elbow and raised a thin eyebrow at her. Pansy had gorgeous eyebrows, and gorgeous fox eyes. She wondered why Pansy would ever feel so insecure. "Why so quiet?"
Alicia gave her a small laugh. "Just planning our day."
Pansy gave her a bigger look but decided to let it go. "Alright. So I was thinking we get ice cream first and go shopping for accessories. Blaise said he has something planned for tonight.. I'm kind of nervous," she whispered.
Alicia's eyes flourished with excitement for her best friend. "Ooo! What do you think it could be? Promise rings? Engagements? Or.. maybe your first time?"
