'Sorry kanna, avan ipdi panuvaan nu na konjo kuda edhirpakala..'
Devi spoke with guilt when Adhrith didn't attend the event even at the last moment. Samvrutha didn't want to make Devi worried. She knew that it was not their fault. Also, she believed that that Adhrith would have a reason for not attending the event.
Lakshmiram stood there and clearly understood her heart which yearned for Adhrith's presence. At that moment when Adhrith asked them to leave, he sensed that his son was disturbed due to something. He didn't want to ask him further, but trust Adhrith and let him go. He thought that Adhrith would clear it soon and attend the event whatever it was. He knew how much he had transformed since the day he got married to Samvrutha.
The way Adhrith and Samvrutha became comfortable with each other made Lakshmiram believe that his son started falling to Samvrutha and will never ignore her at any cost. Still he believed it, but he wondered what would have been this important rather than being here with Samvrutha in her crucial moment.
He sighed and spoke,
'Avan venumnu panniruka mataan ma..edhuva irundhalum veetuku poi pesikalam..va..' he tried to ease the situation, ignoring Devi's glare. Samvrutha pursed her lips with a small smile,
'Theriyum mama..na edhum thappa nenaikala..aana indha edathula avaru irundhirundha inum special ah feel panirupe..' she said and a wave of guilt hit Lakshmiram harder and he nodded his head.
'Puridhu ma, indha vishayathula avanukaha unkita pesradhuku engalku endha rights um kedayadhu..' he said and Devi intervened,
'Edhuku avanukaha namma pesanum? avan pannadhu thappu..at least oru phone panni enachunaavadhu soli irukanum..(sighs) avan enna karanam sonalum enala adha ethukka mudiyadhu nga..' Devi bursted and Samvrutha held Devi's hand,
'Aththai, neenga varuthapadadheenga..(smiles) adha solrenla? enaku theriyum avaru venumnu panniruka mataru..neenga avara edhum soladheenga..'
'Adhuku nu? avana enanu kekama vida solriya?' Devi rolled her eyes,
'Ila aththai, avaru kita na pesre..neenga ipo tension agadheenga..enaku onne onnu dha, avaru phone kuda edukala..bathrama veetuku poi irundha podhum..' her face showed worry and she soon composed herself,
'Neenga kelambunga aththai..mama, na innaiku inga dha irukanum..konjo paperwork iruku..indha project la na sign pani adhukana formalities lam mudichutu nalaiku veetuku varre..'
'Avana vandhu unna pick pana solrenma..' Lakshmiram said and Samvrutha nodded.
After Devi and Lakshmiram left, Samvrutha sighed and checked her mobile phone whether he had called her. Samvrutha had already dialed him but for her disappointment, he didn't pick it which made her worried. Now, she tried one last time and sighed in defeat when the call went unanswered.
She finally dropped a message to Lakshmiram saying that to text her once they witness Adhrith being safe at home. Her colleagues called her and she joined them uninterestedly.
Adhrith pulled his hair in frustration. On one hand, he was still not out of the hurt of being cheated by the people he trusted and on the other, his heart ached about missing the moment of being with Samvrutha. He reminisced the time he drove the car like a mad man towards Samvrutha's university.
