The next morning I woke up to notice Colson was still awake. "Good morning, handsome." I said to him, wrapping my arms around his body loosely. Colson pulled me closer and kisses the top of my head. "Morning babe, how'd you sleep?" Asked Colson, I just shrugged and looked up at him before kissing his jawline. "It was okay. I woke up sometime during the night and you were missing. Where did you go?" I asked, a frown forming on my lips. He scooted down on the bed so that our faces were right in front of each other's. His bright, warm smile took over his face causing me to blush. "I ran out of papers last night so I went to the gas station to get some." Said Colson, I nodded, obviously believing him until I saw the bandage on his shoulder blade. I went to touch it but stopped myself. "Colson! What happened?" I asked, looking at him worriedly. Colson laughed it off and shook his head. "Nothing, don't worry. I just didn't see a — uh, thing on the bus last night." Said Colson, I rolled my eyes and nodded. "Be more careful." I said.
The two had finally gotten out of bed and ready for the day, only a few more shows until Colson's tour was over. I was sad that it was coming to an end but I knew that I'd have him all to myself or hoped I would at least. Tonight Colson was playing at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, CA. It was only a few hours away from where we were so we had to leave this area soon. Colson and I went for a walk, we were headed in the way where everything took place and that's when we saw the abandoned warehouse full of police. There had to be at least five or six police vehicles outside the place. The ambulance arrived shortly after we saw it, Colson stopped dead in his tracks to watch. His face looked like it almost went pale, I grabbed his hand and caressed the top of it lightly. "Hey. What's wrong, love?" I asked, Colson finally snapped out of whatever trance he was in and now stared right at me. "Nothing, cops just scare the shit out of me. Let's get out of here." Said Colson, locking his fingers with mine, practically dragging me in the opposite direction.
"Colson.." I said and got nothing but silence in return. "Colson!" I yelled and pulled my hand away from his grip. He stopped and turned his body around so that now he was right in front of me. The way he dragged me away kind of scared me, I had never seen him so afraid before. "Talk to me, please? What's going on? Why did you drag us away like that?" I asked and crossed my arms. His face had it's full color back now and that same smile formed onto his lips. "Akari, nothing is going on. I was just freaked out by the cops, that's it." Colson explained, I had so many questions but I didn't try to interrogate him. I wanted him to know I trusted him and that I could be a safe space for him. He didn't need to fear me so I just let it go.
Once we got back to the tour bus Colson went into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. He sat against the door and put his face in his hands. "God save me, I know I've done terrible things.." Said Colson, almost tearing up. "I just want a happy life with her, you can take everything from me but God, don't take her." He added, leaning his head against the door. I knocked on the door after a while and heard him get up from the floor to open the door. Once the door was opened and he was right in front of me I gave him a reassuring smile before I opened my arms. He hugged me tightly and I held onto him. "Are you okay?" I asked him, he nodded. He kissed the top of my head and we walked out then sat down on the couch. "I'm sorry for being weird about today." Said Colson, I looked up at him and shook my head. "No, don't apologize. I understand you get freaked out by cops. I'm sorry for questioning you." I said before I placed a gentle kiss onto his jawline. We stayed there and held each other for a while as the driver drove us to the Arena.
Once we arrived Colson's team explained to us what was going down as they do every night. They explained how we would go in, where the dressing room was, etc. Colson and I listened to everything we were being told before nodding. "Is everything ready to go for tonight? Any practicing?" Colson asked, the man nodded. "You have to go in and run a test show but only a few songs to make sure the sounding is good and the lights, then we're good to go." Said the man, Colson leaned his head against the back of the couch. I could tell he was exhausted from doing this nearly every night now for the last few months. Luckily in the few days he will get a break and get to rest before going back to work. "Alright, just bring my luggage to the dressing room." Colson said, grabbing his backpack from the ground. He grabbed my hand and locked our fingers together before we got up. We made our way inside the Arena and walked around to find his dressing room. Once we found it we went inside and he sat his bag down, his arms instantly wrapped around me. "Once this is over and we're home, I'm going to take you on a real date, we're going to have a great time and I'm going to officially ask you to be mine in the most cliché way." Said Colson, who was now smiling at me. I blushed and nodded my head, wrapping my arms around his neck. We kissed softly and once we pulled away I rested my forehead onto his. "You're going to kill it tonight, love. I'll be right there waiting for you to exit that stage, My Rockstar." I said and we both smiled.
