"Don't question me, Hale! I come from a long lineage of powerful witches and wizards—!"
"Well, so does everyone else, but... how do you know my name?"
———
Arya was breathing hard as she felt around for her wand. She almost breathed a sigh of relief as she pulled it out of her robes and quickly cast "Lumos!"
The end of her wand lit up and she blinked, her eyes adjusting to the brightness. Once she could see clearly enough, she could look around. The grip she had on her wand tightened.
"Hello?" She finally said after gaining enough courage. She scanned the area with her eyes: old and dusty desks and chairs were stacked up against the walls, and a few dusty volumes rested on a lone bookshelf at the bottom of the room. The windows were curtained so well that they engulfed all of the light that could possibly peek through, and it looked as though it were night.
But she couldn't look around any longer because Arya suddenly felt something poke her back. She yelped and turned around to see what it was, and in the light of her wand, she could see a hand with red-painted fingernails, holding a wand of its own. Arya looked up to see the face it belonged to.
"You!" She hissed.
"Me," the voice said smugly, and Victoria Astor stepped forward, her wand still pointed at Arya.
"What do you want?" Arya tried to keep her voice calm and steady, now pointing her wand at Victoria.
"The more fitting question would be 'who do I want,' but, I think you already know the answer."
"Peter?" Arya guessed.
"Yep, that's the one," Victoria smirked.
"He's not mine to give, neither is he anyone else's," said Arya.
"I'm not here to ask for him, I'm here to give you a warning."
Arya stayed silent and waited for her to continue.
"If you don't stay away from him, I swear that I will make your life a living hell. I will do everything in my power to Make. You. Suffer."
Arya paused before replying. "...How will you do that?" She said doubtfully. "We're the same year, right? I don't think a 14-year-old can—"
"Don't question me, Hale! I come from a long lineage of powerful witches and wizards—!"
"Well, so does everyone else, but... how do you know my name?"
Instead of answering Arya's question, Victoria paused for a moment before she suddenly cast "Stupefy!"
Thankfully, due to the pause, Arya had enough time to jump out of the way. The spell missed her and hit one of the stacked chairs behind her, breaking it and splintering it to pieces. "I don't know how Harry does this stuff," Arya panted.
Victoria was now filled with rage. "Confringo!"
"Protego!" Arya quickly cast, barely dodging the flames as her wand light went out. The curse bounced off of her shield and almost hit Victoria, whom Arya had seen in the light of the flames, but dodged them just in time. "Are you mad?! Depulso!" Arya quickly cast again, and Victoria didn't have time to cast the Shield Charm before Arya heard her collision with the wall.
Trying to fight in the darkness, Victoria cast again: "Stupefy!"
"Protego!" Arya saw the red light of the spell in time, it rebounded, hit a desk, and broke it in half.
