Chapter 12: The Thryst

THE THRYST

I and Engr. Diaz are both wearing dress which we bought a long time ago but since we're too busy in the field, we forgot about them.

I was in great 'awe' when we made our way to the entrance of the place as we are welcomed with waiters who offered us drinks. I took one and gave it to Venesse.
Kumuha rin ako ng sa akin saka pumunta sa gitna kung saan nakapwesto ang mga tables.

I assist Venesse bago ako naupo. If I were to describe the place, it was grand. The host of this event must have put so many effort in instructing others to design this hotel and make it look like this.

Nagpalinga-linga ako para hanapin ang mga kakilala ko pero mukhang sa dami ng tao ay hindi ko sila makikita kaagad. Bukod kasi sa batchmates namin ay maaari ka ring magdala ng sinumang gugustuhin mong isama.

It's been eight years.
I have no idea if they also did such event in the past which i didn't be able to attend because of being so busy with my studies.

I studied 5 years in college.
I took the 2 years apprenticeship in a firm and be able to earned money while doing my review.
I took the Architecture Licensure Examination the next year and gladly, I passed it.
So many things have happened that I don't know if people I once knew in the past would still remember someone like me.

Today's reunion is composed of my junior high school batchmates.

Suddenly, I spotted Brie, Sandy, and Kath in a distance so pinuntahan ko sila, with Engr. still in my side.

"Oh it's Cha !" halos pasigaw na sabi ni Kath at nakipagbeso sa akin.
Ganoon din ang ginawa ni Sandy samantalang nginitian lamang ako ng marahan ni Brie.

"Very long time no see, how are you?" pero nagulat ako nAng akbayan ako ni Brie. Gosh, I missed them.

Bumitaw na siya. "I'm all fine," I smiled afterwards.

"I heard you pursued Architecture, baka naman padesign ng bahay with discount" pang aasar niya sa akin habang sinisiko ako.

"baka naman kasi pang-cr lang ang budget mo, teh" sabat naman ni Kath.

"Excuse me. My husband is capable of giving anything I want. Baka i-hire pa kitang maid namin?" Brie said.

I just smiled at them while they're busy teasing each other. Walang nagbago, para parin silang aso't pusa kung magbangayan.

"Kapal mo. Sa ganda kong 'to, baka ako pa mapagkamalang asawa ng husband mo" saad niya with flip hair.

"Kung hindi ka lang nakahair extension ngayon, kanina pa kita sinabunutan" I heard Venesse giggled because of the two which makes me smile too.

Lumapit sa akin si Sandy habang patuloy parin sa pagbabangayan ang dalawa.

She drink in her wine pagkatapos ay tumingin sa akin. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"N-nothing. You two dating?" she asked, pertaining to the one in my side.

Umiling ako kasabay ng pagngiti. "Haha no. She's just a colleague. By the way, she's Venesse. Uhm, Ven, meet Sandy" nagbeso rin ang dalawa.

"What you doin' with life, then?" I asked her. Nagpa alam muna si Venesse na pupuntang comfort room. When i say na sasamahan ko siya ay huwag na raw at mag usap nalang kami ni Sandy.

"Well, I'm into business, you know that. Actually, palaki na nang palaki yung branch ng company ko that's why i need to hire more workers" she said in a humble tone.

"Wow. is this the perks of pursuing something you really love?" i asked.

Bahagya siyang ngumiti. "Maybe, plus my husband and I are handling it well. He's also a businessman"
