halfway love
part one
"do you need me? do you think i'm pretty?" i broke out into tears as i watched jaylin make a dubsmash to a popular pop song that was being used in these don't judge challenges. instead of both of them have imperfections smeared along their face they instead had their face bare just looking back and forth at each other and at the camera.
"oh i think that i've found myself a cheerleader." they uncovered the screen and instead of looking attractive some how they both had two big ass blunts in both of their mouth doing silly shit.
"y'all some gay ass niggas for'real. but y'all funny tho." i commented as jaylin paid me no mind.
"aw fuck you, we gon get twitter famous and pretty bitches finally gon follow us back. you mad cuz you not included." gabe spoke against me while jaylin just shook his head.
"y'all wanna be the next 'hmm' niggas so bad."
"he would be just like the next nigga on the street; hating on somebody that's doing more than him. at least i'm trying." gabe whined to jaylin who let out a slight laugh.
"man, whatever. look, it's time for me to head out now. lana should be out of class by now." i raised up from the patio chair i had relaxed into and went over to dap gabe and jaylin up before i left. don't worry, i'm not skipping. it's actually after school and i attended all of my classes today. progress.
"bye nigga, go get your date on." jaylin shooed me away and i shrugged before walking off of the deck and around to the front of the house. i told lana to come pick me up from jaylin's house because i was not gonna wait around at the school for two hours until she finished her last class of the day.
i waited anxiously for her hunter green automobile to make an appearance on the avenue. my patience was drawing thin from the routine checking of the time every passing thirty seconds. all of my insecurities were on front line as i thought about how she could've changed her mind about wanting anything to do with me. how she could've found someone better, wiser, and older than me. a man that could offer more than his heart.. a man that could offer shelter, a more vibrant income, better looks and intensive knowledge. honestly all i had to give her was charm, good conversation and dick. she deserves more.
i pushed that all behind me as i watched the honda creep down the road and stop in front of me. the window rolled down and a light face with dark wavy hair made it's appearance into the air.
"get in loser." she had a cheeky grin on her face as she quoted a movie. i rolled my eyes at her but shot up from the cement of my seat and to the leather of her car.
she pulled off from jaylin's house and cruised down the barren streets while elhae played softly in the wind.
"where are we off to this time acid man?" lana's cheerful voice rang through the air and i directed her to the location of our date. we pulled into the barely occupied lot and got out from the vehicle.
"the north market? what is this?" lana looked into my eyes and i could see the distaste in her face.
"you've never been to the north market?" i asked incredulously. he head shook from side to side and i felt a sadness pour from me that she had been missing out on a wonderful place but i became excited in realization that i would be the one to expose her to the holy mecca of
"food."
her eye's nearly popped out of her skull as she skimmed over the bounty of venues all perfected in their craft of cuisine.
