Kicking the door shut with his shoes, Taehyung threw the car keys on the table, a hand loosening the tie around his neck when his eyes landed on the male that walked into his front room.
Jimin was sipping his coffee, dressed in a white button down and black shorts, the expanse of his milky thighs on full display.
Jimin's eyes grew large as he caught Taehyung's stare across the room, the hand he rose to brush through his hair stuttering in its movement.
From this distance, Taehyung could see the jut of Jimin's uncovered hips, prominent from the side of his shirt raised to smooth his hair, his tiny shorts low enough to drag taehyung's attention to the protrusion of his hip bone.
Taehyung gritted his teeth when his eyes unmistakably found the disappearing bite mark just above jimin's left hip bone, so close to the huge crescent scar running over his stomach, and Taehyung remembers how it took all his will to not lay his claim there the last time he had jimin writhing underneath him.
For anyone, the big scar running along the expanse of Jimin's lower tummy would seem like a defect, a blemish on his perfectly smooth skin, the ridges of it ragged and tainting the blonde skin.
But Taehyung had spent hours worshiping the scar, had kissed and muttered praises onto the skin, nipped with his teeth and licked softly to allay the pain whenever jimin squirmed too much. Taehyung's lips would trail the scab to where it disappears inside the waistband of jimin's shorts or pants to press a quick kiss at its tapering end.
Jimin never questioned his fixation with the scar on his stomach, had let him pay an unnatural amount of attention to the scab jimin says is ugly, had even tried pushing him away when his lips inevitably found it every time they fell into bed together.
But Taehyung only shook his head, clasping the hand pushing at his shoulder to interlock their fingers at the side of jimin's hips as his lips mapped the scab over and over again until jimin gave in with a laugh.
Taehyung's fingers traced the inflamed skin at nights where Jimin lay fast asleep next to him, silently wishing to reverse everything with a snap of his fingers.
The wound was a mistake.
That fateful day, Taehyung miscalculated his moves. He didn't think his rival company would have him dead rather than lose a contract from the highest bidder in town.
Neither Taehyung nor his guards were fast enough to wrench Jimin out of the way when someone from the crowd armed with a knife marched towards taehyung with the intention of killing him, and Jimin got in the way, though taehyung very well knew that jimin stepped up to dodge the blade from him, trying to disarm the assaulter only to get slashed through his suit.
That was the first time Taehyung had ever felt scared. Scared of losing someone he cherished more than his life, he got scared of losing his jimin, the only person that keeps him alive.
Taehyung simply refused to listen every time Jimin assured him it was okay. Though taehyung knew jimin was stubborn, he had screamed back at the small male to get out when jimin yelled at him that it was his choice and that taehyung had no right to decide for him.
