Taehyung's resulting sigh punched a hole straight through his heart making jimin wonder why taehyung still cares about him after all the ignorance he subjected the alpha to in the days that passed.

Jimin wasn't imagining the way taehyung's shoulder's slumped down in relief probably from seeing him not fleeing on his feet for the first time after he left taehyung stranded back at the field without any explanation.

He doesn't have anywhere to run off now.

For a week jimin avoided the alpha, dodging, sprinting or whatever it took for him to fend off a confrontation.

But taehyung was persistent in his intentions, to coax a reason for his sudden coldness.

The day after he ran into taehyung's arms, the alpha came by his house, waiting for him to open the door but jimin had smelled taehyung a mile away, knew that his best friend was anxious from taehyung's scent. He let taehyung knock on his door, staying quiet as the alpha pleaded to let him inside with a shattered voice. Taehyung stood rooted to his doorstep for an hour, denying to leave until his silence became too big to ignore and taehyung has to resign to leave him alone.

He shouldn't have fell into the alpha's arms that day but his father's words has cut too deep, still hurts so fucking much that jimin greedily leaned towards the comfort the alpha offered him wordlessly.

Taehyung was always this considerate and caring, tended to all his crying sessions without prodding for any reasons, cradling jimin in his warm embrace till he forgot what made him sad in the first place.

Many a times jimin has wondered how he will repay taehyung for all the things the alpha has done for him. A lifetime of favours still won't cover the number of times taehyung made him feel safe and carefree by the alpha's side.

The least jimin could do was be a good friend to taehyung but he went and ruined that too, has outright pushed taehyung away from him just because he was hurt by his father's words, all because he was a coward and couldn't admit that taehyung means more to him, maybe more than his life.

He should not have let his father belittle the bond he shares with taehyung. Maybe it has only been a few days since jimin got aware of the shift in his feelings for taehyung. Yes it's only been a day jimin accepted his feelings for the alpha and sure he was scared of the change but he shouldn't have let that fear keep him from confessing his feelings out loud to the world to hear.

But he's always been the perfect son, never been the reason for a frown on his father's lips so all it took for him to backtrack was a look of disappointment in his father's face.

He didn't dare defend his relation with taehyung, let his father believe the rumours when he could have explained everything to his father.

So he ran and ran till he stopped at the person who inadvertently was the reason for his pain.

His wolf made a ruckus in him as he made the choice to stay quiet, threatened to leave him when he pushed the alpha away from them with the words he regretted ever since then.

Jimin hates that he can read through some of taehyung's thoughts, hates to know that the alpha is hurting so badly right now.

It's been hard ever since the alpha imprinted on him. If before what he could hear was only broken thoughts, now jimin can feel the pain radiating off the alpha.
