Ethan was falling. He had fallen through a crack in the ground and had been falling for the last forty minutes.
Down.
Down.
Down.
He went. Till the light from the crack was nothing more than a star in the unlit sky.He was also wounded, from a wound in his stomach that was rapidly losing blood. A wound that was made from a shard of a broken dagger.
Just as Ethan came to terms with his situation. The fact that he would never breathe air again, he heard voices.
He could hear two people discussing something in quiet, hurried voices.
Ethan slowly opened one of his eyes his dream gone. What an odd dream he had. Ethan could almost still feel the sticky feeling of his blood on his hands. After doing a quick scan of his sleeping state he realised that nothing of his had been stolen and he was not harmed, his dream was just a strangely realistic thing. So in his opinion, all was well. Then he heard the voices mention she was coming back in the next few days and they could further their plan.
Carefully turning his head he saw the two voices. Alabaster and Luke. Alabaster was possibly Ethan's favourite friend, an unclaimed demigod just like himself. Luke however was a bit trickier. Luke Castellan was the prodigal son. A child of Hermes so good at sword fighting they said he could go against Perseus and win. Ethan didn't mind him, he was just jealous he had a home, a bed to sleep in instead of the sleeping bag in which Ethan had been in since he arrived at the age of 11. Ethan was angry when he thought of all the unclaimed stuck in the Hermes cabin
He also realised he had never really seen Al and Luke talk to each other as they seemed to be doing now. Luke was much closer to Charlotte O'Chance, who at the moment he had heard was in juvie after she 'accidentally' got caught gambling with money she just so happened to find on the pavement. In reality, as he had heard from Luke she did it because she was bored. In the letter Luke received from her, she said that 1000 dollars was a completely normal amount to be found on the pavement. Ethan believed it was even crazier that after swindling 16 rich men out of their fortune, she only got 4 weeks in juvie. They all now believed she was a child of Hermes. After what god was known for being good at cards? There wasn't but Hermes was the god of gaming. She was another figure in his life Ethan liked. He couldn't imagine what staying in this cabin would be like if she wasn't always hosting poker matches between cabins, constantly winning Hermes the best bathroom slots or training times. Everyone believed she always cheated, but Ethan had a knack for knowing when someone was cheating. She never cheated. Which always intrigued him so during one of her poker matches he always watched the way she played. How at each turn she always got the best cards. He had decided long ago that Charlotte O'Chance was the luckiest person he had ever met.
