Men always underestimate a woman's power. Their strength matching with their faults to the point where weakness becomes nothing more than an opportunity to become better than what they started off as.
Leaning up against the wooden handmade railings watching as her children all divulged in activities they enjoyed together. Archery. Picking up a bow allowing the arrow to dance across their fingertips.
Whistlings die in the air as it hits straight into the spray painted hay bales. A groan of criticism and a yelp of excitement exudes through them all.
An old truck drove up heading towards them as they loaded up another round of archery. Salem's head picked up when hearing the car door slammed. His eyes shining brightly, "Grandma Mary!" He expressed vibrantly.
Placing the bow and arrow to their respective spot he runs up towards the old Kenner woman. Rosalice pushes herself off the railings turning her body towards the truck. Her children followed in pursuit greeting their grandmother with hugs. Mary returns the hugs with kisses of her own.
Patting all of their backs, Mary softly says to them, "Let me speak with your mother alone." Watching as their face falls with a frown wishing to spend more time than just greeting her. "I'll come in and make my famous apple pie." The three all nodded and rushed into the house. Soren looks at his grandmother with eyes of indifference, a blank stare. Mary squeezes his cheeks, saying, "Go check those apples for me, sweet pea."
Eyes lightning up, Soren moves towards his small garden wanting to fulfill his tasks. Always loving to do stuff for others even if he didn't want or feel like doing.
Mary's eyes of browns mixed with sprinkles of green caught a hold of the hybrid before her. A soft smile appeared on her lips, "Well, now aren't you a sight?"
Rosalice smiles softly, growing a large liking to the werewolf as she always had. "Hello to you too Mary." Changing the subject quickly, she asks, "Did you find it?"
Mary frowns, staring at the Mikealson married woman. "So you two are really going to do it? Cure 'em and then wake 'em up?" Sighing heavily, "Did you ever stop to think, they might be better off without 'em?"
Rosalice crosses her arms. She made a promise to herself. To them. To her kids. To her niece. She wasn't going down without a fight until they were brought back. Until she found comfort in large arms that felt like a blanket. "My children will never be safe. I'm mated to Elijah. The world knows I have had his kids. One word about them to his and his family enemies and they come tumbling in." Mary continues to frown, listening intently. "I may know how to kill off vampires but I can't protect them 24/7. Someday someone is going to catch me slipping and get to them. And to add, Hope and Salem are first-born Mikealson witches. They have power that me and Hayley don't entirely understand." Mary looks away, shaking her head. Rosalice adds, "Me and Hayls can't do this on our own."
Finally looking back, eyes connecting, Mary sighs and speaks, "You told me to wake the Mikealsons you needed to find all seven werewolf packs. Hayley and you found six. The last one, the Malraux. I thought they'd been killed off. According to this." She lifts up a slip of paper. "There might be one left. Rosalice. You looked for five years. You found nothing. Suddenly, I get word of a lead. What if someone else found it, too? What if it's a trap?"
Rosalice lifts her hand up snatching the paper, assuring, "You know me Mary, I know how to disappear."
