When it's all over

Why

Our faces were inches apart, our lips less then that. I turned my head and Jake backed up.

"Thanks, again Jake." My heart was beating out of my chest.

He cleared his throat. "Your welcome."

"Ok well it's late I better go." I needed to get out of here.

"Ok Leanna." He had that stupid smirk on his face and he just backed up as I rolled my window up.

Then I drove off.

It was Friday and I was sitting in the cafeteria reading and listening to music. Well trying to read I couldn't help but think about what happened last night. I didn't like Jake, I mean yeah I had just met him but I didn't like him.

He was cute but I've never had a boyfriend and really I just needed a friend right now. Like desperately needed one.

Then my thinking was interrupted by someone sitting down across from me. I looked up to find Jake. Great just what I needed.

"Hey Leanna." He was smiling, like he had forgotten about last night.

"Hi Jake." I was very unenthusiastic.

"So I was thinking, do you mind if I call you Le?" I've never had a nickname before. I liked Le it was pretty.

"Sure why not." I was still looking down at my book.

"Are we good?" He looked confused.

"Uh yeah." I was also confused.

"Well I've decided something."

"And what is that?"

"We're going to be friends. Ok?"

I looked at him probably with my mouth almost on the table.

"Sure Jake." I said smiling.

"And Jake. Um about last..." he cut me off.

"Let's not ok?" I was very confused. "I mean if you want to talk about it we can but I'd rather not."

I nodded in agreement.

The rest of lunch we sat there and talked. Well Jake talked and I mainly listened.

I got home and went to take a shower. It was my brothers birthday, his name was drake but nobody called him that. His middle name was Holden, which is what everyone calls him, they always have.

He was a year older than me but he went to a different school. Holden played football so he went to the high school in our county with a good ball team. I went to the one closest to our house.

We were going to the movies, well him and his friends were and he invited me. Holden and I have been close ever since our dad left when we were little. We do a lot together especially since I don't have any friends.

I got out of the shower and put on some denim shorts and a baggy t shirt. As I was sitting down I got a notification from instagram:
Jake_Grayson is now following you. I had no idea Jake's last name was Grayson, but honestly I didn't know that much about him.

I followed him back and started to straighten my hair. We were going to watch a horror movie, I was excited. I wasn't really friends with Holdens friends but I liked them they were nice but I just wasn't close with them like that. Then I got a text from Holden.

Hey you can bring somebody if you want idk if you have anybody to bring but just offering.

Well actually there might be someone but idk if they can come or not I'll let you know.

Ok

I was going to ask Jake. I went into insta and dm'd him.

Hey I'm going to a movie tonight with my brother and his friends you wanna come

It was delivered, he read it, he's typing.

Uh yeah sure what time

Seven

K I'll be there

I couldn't believe it. When my brother and I went places with his friends he always says I can bring someone but I never have anyone.

It was 5 I had two hours well one and a half hours until we left. I ate some supper and did some homework.

Before I knew it it was time to go so I threw on my converse and a hoodie.

I walk into the movies behind golden and his friends. There was five of them, well three of his friends and two of their girlfriends. I turned the corner and saw Jake. He smiled.

"Hey Le!" That stupid smirk.

"Hey Jake, glad to see you came."

"Well when you friend asks you to go somewhere with them you go." We were laughing.

"Um hi who are you?" Holden interrupted.

"Oh I'm Jake Leanna's friend." He looked nervous. Holden has always been the "overprotective big brother".

"Ok whatever, let me know if he does anything out of line Anna." Everyone called me Anna that knew me personally. Besides Jake he called me Le, I liked Le.

"Do you want anything Jake?" He looked at me with slight confusion.

"I should be asking you that."

"Why I asked you here and it's not like we're ima date?"

"Well I know Le but I'm ok thanks though."

"Your welcome Grayson."

He looked at me with his head tilted slightly. "What is that?"

"Why is what? Oh Grayson? Well you get to call me Le so I get to call you Grayson. Actually I think I just like Jake."

"Me too Le." We just laughed.

"So do you want anything cause I'm gonna get something to drink, I won't buy it but you can come with me.?" I was really hoping he would say yes I didn't want to go up to the counter by myself.

"Yeah I'm gonna get something to drink too."

We got set down to watch the movie. It wasn't that scary, there was a few parts that made me jump. My brothers friend's girlfriend was beside me and Jake I the other.

After the movie was over we walked out into the lobby.

"Bye Jake thank you for coming with me." I said smiling.

"Your welcome Le."
