Living Thankfully

They say that light is a source of energy.

Light allows plants to flourish and spread and live.

This precious energy that's bright and seen yet light and serene,

Why can we not live off it?

I see dark is a source of inefficiency.

Darkness inhibits people to extinguish but spread deadness and despair.

This soulless darkness that's gloomy and unseen yet heavy and unclean,

Why can we live off it?

In darkness, in light; we choose where we want to be.

In sadness in glee; we feel where we want to go.

In good or in bad, in heavy or high water; opposites of each other, yet we all experience them both.

In any situation and in any percipience, knowing is one thing.

Actions are another.

In any feeling and in any thought, knowing is one thing.

Actions are another.

In any sight and in any voice, knowing is one thing.

Actions are another.

They say darkness is a source of lack.

When I lack, help me to find you. In my dark abyss of void, when sight has been lost, feeling unfelt, hearing unheard, taste untouched, and smell unsmelt, talk to my heart and show me the way back.

When I lack, lead me out of the darkness.

When I lack, lead me away from it into your holy light.

When I lack, feed me towards the effectiveness.

When I lack, feed me towards it and into your holy sight.

I see light is a source of energy.

Let me live off your light. Give me energy so that I can live through you.

The precious energy that's bright and seen yet light and serene,

Let me live in it, with you, forever.

Through you I live away from sin, and into your powerful virtue.

Remind me, bless me, speak to me, nourish me.

I need you.

Thank you Jesus.

Thank you so much!

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light"
1 Peter 2:9

Ello! Thank you for reading my poems. It means so much when you comment or vote. It tells me that people are not only reading what I post, but that through my words, God has somehow touched them (or, at least that's what I hope has happened).

I wrote this poem mainly to again, encourage myself to walk away from the darkness that's threatening to take hold on me so much lately. But also, because i've always been fascinated with the idea of light and darkness for years. I don't believe in the "Ying-Yang" Religion, but God and Sin are like that. Too polar opposites. But the difference being, that Jesus took the sin on himself, and became sin, so that we could break free from sin having any stronghold on us.

What's your idea of light and darkness?
