The sound of paws making contact of the metal floor off the Guardian's base on Knowhere echoed down the hall. Lia's ears perked as she looked behind her- which was an angry Raccoon on her tail. She growled, soon bumping into Cosmo. The Retriver/Lab mixed looked down in confusion as the Goldendoodle squirmed between her legs.

"Hide me!" She pleaded as Rocket came across the two. He tried to keep his composure, as he was now Captain of the Guardians - but he was still upset.

"She called me vermin! I am a Raccoon, not a vermin!" Rocket's ears flickered as he stared at Cosmo.

"Is this true ..?" Cosmo licked her lips, taking a step back so Lia was no longer under her. She was responsible for the pup, which also meant any sort of discourse had to be resolved by her if Lia created trouble with the other members.

Lia stared at Rocket, a small growl escaping her maw. Rocket, of course - growled back. It was a pained reminder of the first argument that broke out in a bar between him and Drax many years ago. He had accepted that he was indeed a Raccoon, but vermin? rodent? No.

Cosmo eventually lowered her head, a growl escaping her maw as she waited for a response. She knew the answer, but wanted to hear it from Lia first.

"Is. It. True?"

Lia drooped her head, soon answering Cosmo's question. ".. Yes."

With that, Cosmo let out a whine of displeasure. She the looked at Rocket, who's eyes still stared at the pup. She knew what Rocket was going through, especially when Kraglin called her a "bad dog." She hated being called that. Cosmo soon stared at Lia, her telekenis kicking in as she picked the pup up. Lia let out a yelp of surprised as Cosmo moved her to Rocket's eye level.

"Apologize, Lia. You hurt his feelings." Cosmo licked her lips.

"My feelings are not hurt! Just .." Rocket paused, trying to find the right words.

"Apologize? He's mean!" Lia snarled, and Rocket snarled back.

"Da! Apologize!" Cosmo asked again, sounded like she was losing her patience a bit. Lia reluctantly turned her head, staring at the Retriver/Lab mix before focusing her attention to Rocket.

".. Sorry, it won't happen again." She mumbled. Rocket seemed satisfied with the apology, so he chuckled.

"It's alright, kid." He then looked at Cosmo, who put the pup down. She looked up at them both, a small grumble being heard.

"It's not nice to hurt someone's feelings, yes? Run along now to find Phyla." Cosmo's tail wagged, seeming satisfied as how she handled the situation. Reluctantly, Lia listened and ran off.

"Aren't to bad at this "mom" business, ya know." Rocket smirked as an ear flickered.

"M-Mother? She just needs guidance, but I'm glad you approve!" Cosmo barked happily.

Rocket started to walk off, soon speaking again. ".. It will come in handy when you have pups of your own."

"Da! Yes ye- WHAT?! Rocket you don't certainly think that! I'm not her mother, just her guardian! Take it back!" Cosmo yelped, following after her Captain.
