Well, I made an announcement saying "Yo so 20 votes for chapter 6 to come out-" and not even three minutes later, chapter 5 had 20+ votes.
I'm a woman of my word, so here's chapter 6.
Chapter 7 will come out when this chapter gets 20 votes!
☂ Chapter 6 ☂
Y/n sucked at geography.
All those stereotypes about Americans manifested inside her as Jimin placed his tiny, squishy index finger against the map. As much as she wanted to snort at the size of his hands, she had to admit she adored the '13' tattoo on his wrist. Unfortunately, the '13' made her think of math, which caused her to grimace.
She could blame it on never going to school, but she sucked at math, geography, and history. If someone asked her about World War II, she'd answer that it was in 1812. She knew law, but that was about the only subject she excelled in. Not that she cared about the others. She had her views and stuck to them; she didn't need education to know the difference between what was right and wrong.
In the basement, Hoseok and Seulgi held a map of New York against the walls that probably had mold on them. Jimin stood in front of it and pointed out the location in Long Island where the ship was marked to go.
"They're going to the Blue Point Dock," Jimin said, which had Seulgi tilting her head.
"Isn't that a fishing pier? Why not go to the marina?"
"Privacy. Less ships, less people, less witnesses. The MacArthur Airport is fifteen minutes away and the dock is open twenty-four hours seven days a week."
"Why not use JFK if they're going to fly kids across the country?" Y/n asked.
"Same thing. Privacy, less people, less witnesses. You saw Kim Namjoon, right?"
"I did, yes."
Jimin pointed to himself. "Comparing JFK to MacArthur is like comparing Namjoon's height to mine."
"I hate how that made sense," Seulgi muttered, which Jimin smiled at.
"We don't know their plans, but we have probable cause now. I'm going to gather all the legal evidence I got. Jungkook and I will get a warrant, and as soon as we do, you raid the ship and find out what the hell they're hiding."
"Is it a good idea to act so soon? It'll be almost midnight by the time we get the warrant and get to Long Island. Why don't we set up stakeouts and patrols instead?" Hoseok said.
"I'm not the lead of the case, it's not my call. Talk to Captain Jeon about it and see what he thinks."
Hoseok let go of the map and left Seulgi scrambling to pick it up. He went to his computer and beckoned them over. Y/n and Jimin gathered around while Seulgi kept fumbling. Hoseok showed the case file that had recently been opened by Captain Jeon. They had access to it. Well, all of them except Jimin.
"Again?" Hoseok asked Officer Park.
Jimin huffed. "Again. If I so much as say the word kid, I get booted off cases."
"Grow up," Seulgi said after she got the map in order. "He's doing it to protect you."
"She's got a point," Y/n threw in.
"Cadet, do me a favor and shut up."
She listened to Jimin despite how she didn't want to. Causing a scene wouldn't benefit the case, so there was no point in arguing. Instead, she paid attention to the files Hoseok scrolled through. There wasn't much, and Jimin insisted on adding to the evidence tab. He ended up taking Hoseok's chair and putting in everything he saw.
