It's been three days that Charlotte hasn't gone to class. Not only because of them all being vampires, but because Christopher was now here. And also because she would always feel someone rest against her dorm room door, it making her shaken up.
She knew it most likely wasn't Adrian, since he would only pass by when it's dinner time to beg her to open the door. Of course she wouldn't though. She was still scared he could try to hurt her even if she was his brother. He might love her and swear to never hurt her, but she read that if a vampire smells blood, they can't control themselves.
A shiver ran down her spine at the thought of him running out of the room every time he was there and she would accidentally cut herself.
That wasn't the only reason she wasn't going out of her dorm though. It was because the boy who threatened that he would find her no matter what, was now here.
She shouldn't be scared of his threat and she wasn't before, but now that he's actually here and he gave her that evil look, she can't help but feel a tinge of fear.
Getting ready, she was about to walk out before she noticed the door knob, gulping. Draco broke the doorknob just to get to her. Yes it was a violent act to do but the reason he did it wasn't for violent ways. It was so see if she was okay.
And she knows that she's nothing to him and that he probably just did that because he felt pity for her, but she still couldn't help but feel her stomach flutter.
Now she knew he was a vampire, but if he didn't hurt her when she was alone with him three days ago in the dorm, then maybe he actually meant it when he said he wouldn't hurt her.
Not even bothering to go to breakfast, she started walking to defense against the dark arts, her stomach rumbling. She had barely been eating in the past few days, or even sleeping for that matter.
And she just felt like balling her eyes out because of that. She was so tired but just couldn't sleep.
Walking into class, she didn't even bother to look around going to her seat and sitting down. She dropped her bag, dropping her head onto the desk. She definitely didn't want to be here, but she knew her grade was already dropping from missing the past few days so she knew she would have to start going to class again.
The teacher started talking, the door opening harshly. She didn't even bother looking up, not wanting to get up from the semi comfortable position.
Hearing someone sit next to her, she was already dozing off before even having the energy to lift her head up to see who it was.
Draco silently knew she knew it was him next to her. But he didn't bother saying a word. He could see her dozing off, and by the dark bags under her eyes, he knew she hasn't gotten much sleep.
"Ms. Pucey?" Snape called from the front of the class, the students going silent. Draco raised his hand, Snape going over with a serious look on his face.
"You're going to let Charlotte sleep for the rest of the class and if anyone asks, she's not feeling well." Snape stared blankly before going back to the front.
The class continued, him taking peeks at Charlotte who looked like she was finally at peace after a long while. He felt like absolute shit.
Not only because he hasn't been sleeping either and sitting outside her dorm most nights, but because he hated that she was scared, and just knew he would see fear in her eyes as soon as she woke up and saw him. He really didn't want her to be scared of him when she found out. Yes it's a reasonable response to when you find out about what he is, but it made him feel like no one would ever like him for who he is.
Time passed by quickly, him noticing that she was scrunching her nose in her sleep from a piece of hair that was fallen onto her nose. He gently took his hand out, ever so softly putting it behind her ear. She jolted awake, her widened eyes looking around the room before they landed on Draco.
And he was right. Her eyes held fear as she looked directly at him, her shoulders tense. He stared back at her blankly, clenching his jaw before looking back to the front.
The door suddenly opened, it catching everyone's attention. Charlotte didn't even care, just lowered her head down onto the desk once again.
"Sorry I'm late. I just didn't know exactly where this class was." She lifted her head up once again, a tinge of fear once again entering her body once she saw Christopher scan the room for a seat and sit down.
It was as if he knew where she was sitting at, his eyes going to her as soon as he sat down.
'This can't be happening.' She thought to herself, looking back to her desk. "You're scared of him. Why?" Draco suddenly said lowly, her head immediately turning to his direction. He was already staring at her as he always was, her just furrowing her brows.
"I'm not." He hummed raising a brow. "You look more scared of him than you are of me." She looked down, drawing invisible figures with her finger on the desk.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She whispered. "I know you're afraid of me and you don't want me near you but I could really give two fucks about that." She looked to him, seeing his eyes darken.
"If I see that boy go near you I swear I will snap his neck." She should've felt terrified after those words left his mouth, knowing he was capable of doing that. But instead she couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach. Fuck she hated the way he made her feel.
"Yeah for sure." She said as low as she could say it, him still being able to hear it. She knew he could kill him if he wanted to, but why would he even risk himself getting caught just because of her?
"For sure", he repeated, tilting his head to the side, "you should know by that little book of yours that vampires have great hearing. So don't think whatever you say won't reach my ear."
She definitely forgot about that. She just stayed quiet, looking to the front of the class.
Why didn't she feel the need to run away from him and cower in fear now that she knows what he is?
