"I just prepared some tea, sandali at kukunin ko."
I looked at her as she hurriedly made her way to the kitchen.
I got my phone quickly and messaged Gaston. It is Saturday so I assumed he was here, pero wala siya.
"I also just baked this banana cake, sana magustuhan mo." Her bright smile reminded me so much of Gaston.
I just smiled at her too as she sat on the sofa right beside me. Tumikhim ako.
"Nasaan po si Gaston...Ma'am?" Kuryoso kong tanong.
She laughed at my question and even slapped my arms lightly. And I realized, she is still the same, her attitude and the way she treats me stayed the same despite what happened between me and his son.
She definitely looked older but I could tell that she aged gracefully.
"Don't call me Ma'am, Iha...baka Mama pwede pa." She murmured something to herself at her last statement.
"Ano po?" Kuryoso ko ulit na tanong.
"I mean, stop calling me Ma'am. Just call me Tita." She happily stated.
Napalunok ako ng malalim. "Sige po...Tita."
Mas lalong lumawak ang pagkakangiti niya. "I can't believed that you and my son are a thing again, he waited for you, Iha."
"You don't have to be sorry, Iha. I'm just glad that you are still able to find each other after how many years." He eyes got teary this time.
Lumapit siya sa akin hinawakan ang kamay. He caressed it softly in her hands as I looked at it. "Just please...don't hurt each other again."
Unti-unti ay tumango ako. "Salamat po." Madamdamin kong pasasalamat.
They were good to me. His parents were good to me. And I must say that Gaston was lucky that they were his parents.
"And I'm really really glad that you're back, Iha." She wiped her tears away and pulled me into a hug.
"Did I burst out the atmosphere?" Gaston unsurely asked as he made his way to us.
"Of course not, anak." Gaston kissed her Mom's temple and then he sat beside me.
"Gaston…"
But he just gave me his evil grin.
"I'll be going first. I'm just here to bring some food and check his fridge. Alam mo naman si Gaston, Iha."
She stood up and smiled playfully at her son.
"Thank you for the invite pero may daye rin kami ng Papa niya...so I have to go." She apologetically smiled at us.
Gaston opened the door for her and we walked her until the elevator.
